Y’all, they did it. They signed the minerals deal. This worried me. However, once I read further down in the article, the better I felt. I have been super coincerned that tRump would make it the advantage US, not Ukraine, but it isn’t! If anything, it seems to be an advantage for Ukraine! Hear me give a big sigh of relief. Whoooooosh! From CNN:
Among the terms of the agreement are “full ownership and control” of the resources staying with Ukraine, according to Kyiv’s Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, who went to Washington to sign on behalf of the Ukrainian government.
“All resources on our territory and in territorial waters belong to Ukraine,” she said, adding: “It is the Ukrainian state that determines what and where to extract. Subsoil remains under Ukrainian ownership – this is clearly established in the Agreement.”
The document signing came after a last-minute disagreement over them. I’m not sure what exactly happened, as that isn’t covered. We know something *did* but not what. The details of the agreement have not been released to the public. And this wasn’t all smooth sailing. President Zelenskyy was originally going to sign the agreement when he came over to see the man WHO PAINTS HIS FACE ORANGE earlier this year, when he got set up by Vance and Agent Orange to be told he wasn’t showing any gratitude (which was nonsense) which then turned into an argument and Zelenskyy got kicked out of the White House.
They kicked the LEADER of a NATION out! That’s one hell of an insult, and I was beyond furious when I found out! President Zelenskyy came over in good faith to sign an agreement about those damn rare earth minerals. Then he has to go back to his country with nothing signed. I wonder if that was deliberate. I really felt he was set up. It was pretty obvious to me, and I wonder sometimes if anyone else saw it. But, back to our rare earth minerals agreement.
Compared to earlier drafts, the final agreement is reportedly less lopsided in favor of the US and is not as far-reaching. It stipulates that future American military assistance to Ukraine will count as part of the US investment into the fund, rather than calling for reimbursement for past assistance.
Speaking on Wednesday in a call with NewsNation, Trump said he made the deal to “protect” Washington’s contribution to the Ukrainian war effort. “We made a deal today where we get, you know, much more in theory than the $350 billion, but I wanted to be protected,” Trump said. “I didn’t want to be out there and look foolish.” Trump has falsely claimed that the US has given Ukraine $350 billion since Russia fully invaded its neighbor in February 2022. The actual figure is around $120 billion, according to the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
Lies, lies, lies. tRump doesn’t realize (or doesn’t want to see) that we can see through his lies. He just keeps going with them as if we can’t. 350 billion my a**. But allow me to yank myself back on topic. Zelenskyy felt like the Mango Mandarin Messiah was asking him to ‘sell’ his country. Ooooookaaaaaaay. That’s pretty harsh, which makes it very likely true! This was apparently in the earlier agreement, but was changed on further negotiations. Whew! That was definitely one of my concerns. By the way? Ukraine already has a similar deal with the European Union. Since 2021. How about that?
Shortly after the doomed White House visit, Trump ordered US aid to Ukraine to be suspended. While the assistance has since been restored, the episode became a major wake-up call for Ukraine’s European allies, who have pledged to step up their help to the country.
Meanwhile, the tone of the US Treasury Department’s announcement of the deal showed more solidarity with Ukraine than previous statements from the Trump administration, referring to the war as “Russia’s full-scale invasion” of Ukraine. “As the President has said, the United States is committed to helping facilitate the end of this cruel and senseless war,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in a statement, calling it a “historic economic partnership.”
“This agreement signals clearly to Russia that the Trump Administration is committed to a peace process centered on a free, sovereign, and prosperous Ukraine over the long term,” Bessent added. “And to be clear, no state or person who financed or supplied the Russian war machine will be allowed to benefit from the reconstruction of Ukraine.”
Well, it’s about damn time. Europe is stepping up to the plate. FINALLY, the Pampers President is doing something right. FINALLY, the minerals deal is done, and Ukraine has the advantage. Finally, they will be getting the real help they need. And maybe, just maybe, our excuse for a president will put some pressure on Russia instead of being all conciliatory and such. FINALLY. Thanks for sticking with me!
*****And now, please be so kind as to read a very special request from our awesome boss******
Zoomers, we are always in need of donations. It’s been an especially rough month, and my own health has not been great these past few weeks, which just adds to the frustration. Anything you can spare will be immensely appreciated. And thank you to all who have donated generously already. Ursula

Apparently one of the accelerators for the apparent change in Trump’s mindset (sorry, it’s the only word that comes to me at the moment) was a Ukrainian/European diplomatic effort centred on the proposition that Putin was “disrespecting Trump” by carrying on with attacks during the “ceasefire”. It was almost as if they knew about or accidentally hit upon his his ego. Best leave it to historians to figure out which,
Yup. That would piss off Bozo.
I’m agreeing.
Ha! Good point!
Funny how concerned Drumpf was over the “$350 billion” given to Ukraine since 2022. By my math, that works out to less than $10 billion per month (the invasion began in February of 2022 and we’ve just now crossed into May of 2025 so that’s 38 months and I’m thinking aid didn’t really start up until about a month or so into the invasion, so just count about 36 months). Now, that money was to ensure a country was capable of thwarting the very end of its existence by a more powerful (ostensibly) neighbor. (Of course, the majority of that aid was basically just the *value* of the mostly unused and some out-of-date material that the US military itself wasn’t planning on using but let’s just ignore that inconvenient truth.)
Now, if Drumpf can tell us all when HE intends on reimbursing the United States taxpayers for the TENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS that he’s wasted in his little weekly golfing excursions since he got back into office then we can all worry about how much Ukraine needs to “pay back” for our help in keeping Russia from turning Ukraine into just a part of Russia. (For what it’s worth, Drumpf might want to consider that all those valuable minerals he so desperately wants for Ukraine to use to “repay” us would now be part of Russia if we hadn’t sent that aid to Ukraine in the first place.)
I do hope that Zelenskyy and the rest of Ukraine’s leaders realize that an “agreement” made with Drumpf is worthless. Anything they may have done to ensure the agreement isn’t too lopsided in the US’s favor can easily be undone just as soon as Drumpf decides he needs to make a “better” agreement (just ask Canada about that trade agreement that Drumpf made in his first term but seemed to just vanish earlier this year with the onset of the tariff wars).
Yea, that 350 billion has bugged me since he first said it, and I’m pretty sure it’s not accurate. I did cover what Ukraine stated in this agreement. Basically, I put some of me in, and some of Ukraine in. We could probably find out more details with some digging (Cleora, are you around?), but I just posted my 4th piece for the day, and I’m exhausted. We might not have planned to use it, but Ukraine was/is fighting for its existence. As long as it worked, who cares?
DAMN but I wish we could get Zelenskyy that information. 300 million for GOLF. Imagine Agent Orange’s face when he tries to change the agreement, and Ukraine pulls out *that* rabbit. Muhahahahahaha. He’s desperate because China has stopped shipping due to his stupid, ridiculous, over-the-top tariffs. It’s your own damn fault, idiot.
