Well, the UK citizens *definitely* do not like Trump. We saw this during his first visit, where someone was really creative and put together a balloon showing Trump as a screaming baby. Personally, I thought this was super funny, and I still laugh about it. Well, so far it seems that on this visit it didn’t come back out like I was hoping it would.

I’m wondering if this visit was announced on short notice, and they didn’t have enough time to get it, or something similar, back out. This doesn’t mean they weren’t creative this time. There were ads placed all over that area showing Trump with Epstein. And that brings me to the point of my column today. From Raw Story:

Police have seized a truck driving a billboard around Windsor Castle, where President Donald Trump is visiting for a state visit. The billboard showed a giant photo of convicted child abuser Jeffrey Epstein standing with Trump. The National, a Scottish newspaper, uploaded a video showing the banner as it was driving down the street. A police officer is then seen stopping the truck, turning off the sign, and driving off with it.

Now, that’s creative too. We don’t see those around here much, only very occasionally. I think I only saw one twice in my lifetime up to now. This was just beautiful. Talk about trolling Trump!! They made their feelings very clear about him. Now, the king had to welcome him and do all the things you expect for a visiting head of state. There’s no telling but that he might have felt the same as his people did. “Oh, bollocks, I have to play nice with this asshole.”

Of course, he’d never show it, stiff upper lip and all that. It was one of those instances where they had to play nice because of all the unfair tariffs that Trump had imposed on them. I believe there was supposed to be at least one meeting between the Prime Minister and him to discuss tariffs and a more collaborative partnership with the US, rather than acting as a vassal state. Trump would have loved that, thinking he brought the UK to its knees, except he didn’t quite do so, much as he’d like to think he did.

The same image was printed on a massive banner that was stretched along the path to Windsor Castle, intending for it to be visible when flying over. “The British public welcomed him with THIS gigantic banner right outside Windsor Castle, where he is staying with the King this week. Paid for by 1770 people,” the group’s caption read on Instagram. . “This trip to the UK is about polishing Trump’s image, so please DO NOT share this picture of the WORLD’S LARGEST PHOTO OF HIM WITH CONVICTED PEDO JEFFREY EPSTEIN. Thanks for cooperating at this difficult time for the President.”

Please do not. Ahahahaha. This was said deliberately so everyone *would* show this image. And a difficult time? They were correct in that Trump is having all sorts of issues right now, cracking down on everything and anything to bring our country under his thumb, plus the economy, plus more stupid tariffs issues (see: China not backing down and slapping *us* with return tariffs). This whole bullshizzle with those is half-killing us with price increases, inflation, and so forth. They are cracking down on immigrants, which means we don’t have any people to help farmers with their crops, or places like neat packing locations, that have to deal with a singularly reduced group of workers. To close:

Euro News also reported that protesters have been creative with ways to display the image in other places. Mugs and China are available for sale with the image displayed reading “Never forget” and “in memory of a terrific guy,” a reference to Trump’s quote about Epstein. The same sentiment is also displayed on a plaque of a park bench purporting to be located at the Trump golf course in Aberdeen, Scotland. It mocks, “See you very, very soon. From Donald.”

BUSTED. Aw, yea. The UK people are just clobbering him with images put in places where he can see them. We don’t dare do that over here, and I wish we could. Driving one around in Washington with that image? That would give us a wide group of people seeing it, from DC visitors to visiting dignitaries. And *that* would be stories told everywhere, and Trump fuming because we have freedom of speech, at least for now.

Friends, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and help ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thanks. Ursula

  1. Great piece Susan but for info, Trump had no contact with the British public although this was taxpayer funded as always. The whole visit was conducted within the private grounds of Windsor castle and then Chequers, the grace and favour country home of the Prime minister, again taxpayer funded.
No wonder the reports say no

    • He didn’t? Well, damn. I was hoping he’d see at least one ad or the banner or one of the ad trucks…. almost makes it not worth it except people had so much fun. Thank you for making me your first comment!
