Wow.

The inaptly named “Save America” PAC, operating chiefly as a slush fund to ensure that the dotard will not have to pay his own legal bills, disbursed more that $230,000 PER DAY in the month of February, for a total operating deficit of $600,000.

Politizoom readers are well aware that TRUMP’s “Save America” has nothing to do with preserving American values but the question remains who will save the Political Action Committee from the predations of the Orangeutan?

The Daily Beast

“In the month of February, Donald Trump finally neared the start of his general election campaign against Joe Biden—while burning through his political operation’s coffers for even more cash to support his legal defenses.

On Wednesday night, Trump’s “Save America” leadership PAC—the political committee that now functions primarily as his legal slush fund—reported paying lawyers $5.6 million last month, according to Federal Election Commission filings. That’s well above the $5 million total the PAC raised in the same period.”

That’s a lot of deficit spending for non campaign related issues, especially considering the court cases the dotard faces have not even begun in earnest.

Amid reports that the Diapered Don is seeking Saudi and Russian sources to secure the half billion dollar bond required by the State of New York to prevent seizure of his heavily mortaged proprties, reports that his legal team has yet to deny, this disclosure does little to potential lenders that their money will be managed responsibly.

“Altogether, that’s more than $6.9 million in combined legal-related payments in February from Save America alone—or about $238,000 per day during the shorter month. It’s an enormous sum for a key Trump PAC that reported having just over $4 million in the bank at the end of the month.

The latest filings show the staggering extent to which Trump’s donor resources are being diverted to his legal fights at a moment when he needs to rapidly scale up a national campaign effort—which Biden is doing thanks to an impressive fundraising blitz.”

Good. They deserve it.

If it is it shouldn’t be.

I hope Sollenberger keeps reporting on this.

    • How rich he is has always been a driving force for Trump, so he’ll order the SecTreas to divert say 3 trillion into his personal bank account for starters. Then he can crow to other rich people including Pootie over in Russia HE is the richest man in the world. But he won’t stop there. He’ll require another 1 trillion from Treasury into his personal account per year. How will he get the SecTreas to agree? Simple. A “bonus” for the “extra paperwork” of say one billion to the SecTreas (tax free of course, as would be the case for Trump) per Trillion handed over to Trump would get him/her to play ball. Crazy sounding isn’t it? However when it comes to Trump I think anything is possible, if it’s great for Trump and bad for everyone else.

  1. How is spending election/campaign funds on legal expenses for breaking state and federal laws not a violation of election spending laws? Can anyone answer this one because it’s got me, and others I’m sure, bumfuzzled.

    • The problem is that the FEC has no enforcement authority of it’s own other than to make a referral to the DOJ. Worse, in order to do THAT it requires a majority of the FEC Commissioners to formally vote to send such a referral. With equal representation between the Republican and Democratic Parties it’s of course something that sure as hell won’t be happening this year.

  2. Does anyone else feel a bit “uneasy” that a major presidential candidate may be indebted to the Saudis or Russia? If he suddenly makes bond, Jack Smith better look closely at where the funds, which will be well-laundered, originated. In other words, their “oranges”.

    • More than a little, if you have more than two neurons connected by a spirochete and actually read and don’t just rely on Faux News. But a lot of the folks read, around at best a 4th grade level, so they miss a lot or dismiss it as fake news. My in-laws aren’t stupid but they don’t read. Info the one with all but her dissertation toward an Ed.D.
