Well, at least we know what the high priced, white shoe law firm lawyer is doing these days. He’s been conspicuously absent from the E. Jean Carroll case. I was expecting Todd Blanche to show up when Joe Tacopina started shooting himself in the foot but that didn’t happen. That’s because Blanche was trying to save another New York-based case, namely the Alvin Bragg investigation, where Donald Trump was indicted on 34 counts.

Blanche has been making efforts to have the case removed from Manhattan and moved to a federal court. His argument is that there are federal issues, such as election law violation, to be adjudicated.

The smart lawyers are seeing through this obfuscation and characterizing Blanche’s maneuver as being an attempt to delay and to find a more favorable judge. Which, if you study Trump’s history with litigation, makes complete sense. Newsweek:

Legal experts have pointed out that requests to move a case from a state to federal court are so rare as there are so few justifications to doing so. […]

Marc Scholl, a former prosecutor in the Manhattan D.A.’s office, said it was more likely that the case would be sent back to state court.

“At the end of the day, New York is not trying to prosecute him for a federal crime or for anything he did in connection with his presidential duties,” Scholl told Reuters. “But it’s certainly a potential delaying tactic.”

Michael McAuliffe, a former elected state attorney and federal prosecutor told Newsweek that the request by Trump’s legal team “is simply another publicity balloon.”

“Any removal of a state criminal case to federal court is based on a specific federal statute. That statute is extremely narrow in scope,” McAuliffe told Newsweek.

According to McAuliffe, the provision allows some federal officials to “seek removal of the state case to federal court,” if they are charged with state crimes.

“By the plain language of the statute, the Trump prosecution for business document fraud doesn’t apply. The public can wait and see what the motion filed in federal court states, but folks should not hold their breath about the outcome,” McAuliffe told Newsweek.

The interesting thing here is that Trump is hiring some expensive guns. And they are doing what they can do. But even Perry Mason would be hard put to win in a situation where the facts are against his client and the law is as narrow as it is in this instance. But Blanche will keep trying to thread the needle and hope for a miracle. And he’ll collect his pay. If he hasn’t gotten already paid in advance. That crash you hear is another ketchup bottle meeting its fate.

  1. HOW CAN these vermin work in such obvious conflict with the established rules, stay employed with ANY official process in progress, that would, as shown, conflict with the rules of a swift and fair resolution to ANY citizen … Don the Con apparently is sweating bullets, hiding out in Scotland, still lies flying to the media there …

The whole process of bringing Trump to justice, will require a tight square knot in every lasso used, Trump, just now, because, the media is keeping such a close eye on his location … Is REALLY going to have a problem hiding out, too many leakers, no one left he can trust to stay quiet, simply because of all the burnt bridges, some of them still smoldering …

AND, even Tucker sucker, “HATES TRUMP”, or so he says …

Maybe Trump has fallen closer to complete business failure than we suspect, the heavy clunk of large brass letters being removed from towers and such places as badly maintained resorts and golf clubs … comes to mind like what happened in Panama …

I wonder how soon the DOJ, Bragg and others say enough BS. we are sending some Marshalls out to bring you back to court in two days … Trump responds, “‘I’ve got a sore back and my feet are giving me some trouble, I won’t be able to attend ANY court action for at least 18 months …”, Bragg would be the first to say, “Hey Don, we have a LOT of things here for you to hear in person, charges, evidence, sentencing, all that …” Trump would melt into that final pond of pig crap …

  2. All of Perry Mason’s clients were innocent. Trump hasn’t been innocent since the doctor held him by his feet and swatted him on the butt.
