If you’ve been paying the slightest bit of attention to Donald Trump’s doings lately, you’ll see a definite pattern: He’s campaigning mostly in blue states. Yes, he was in Arizona briefly yesterday. He will be in Nevada tomorrow. Those appearances make sense. But New Jersey? The Bronx? Southern California? Yes, he is in Newport Beach today. Newport Beach is in Orange County and that is an enclave of conservatism. They do vote Republican. They have an airport named after John Wayne. And boy did they love them some Ronnie Raygun back in the day. And now what’s left of the GOP has devolved to this.

The man in the brick suit said there weren’t any protesters. Yet. I remember one of these enclaves forming on Foothill Boulevard, out in the eastern San Fernando Valley where I lived the last several years I was in California. There was a group around this size, and then on the other side of the street, where the shopping mall was, a spontaneous group of protesters formed.

I happened to have been out shopping at the grocery story shortly after a hospitalization. I was putting groceries in the trunk and when the chanting started, “Fuck Donald Trump!” I left my car and wholeheartedly joined in. So that was the standoff, like I imagine standoffs on Main Street happened back in the days of the wild west. And then the cops showed up and one young gal asked me, “Do you have somebody to come get you in case we get arrested?” She reminded me of the civil rights protesters back in the day, she was ready to put her personal liberty where her mouth was. I got tear gassed while protesting Vietnam in the 70’s, so believe me, I am no stranger to this world.

I said, “Honey, I just got out of the hospital four days ago. This is my first venture out of the house. I’m going to keep one eye on my car at all times, the other eye on the cops, and the minute this gets hairy, I’m gone. I need my meds and my bed.” By that time the police helicopters were flying over the street and traffic was being rerouted.

So my advice to Brick Suit Man is wait. Because the anti-MAGAs may show up in force. And here is Trumpty’s motorcade. I wonder if he’ll be able to get out of the limo this time or if they’ll need to use a forklift.

And speaking of the anti-MAGA protest. The banner reads, “Orange County Votes Biden Harris 2024”

We’ll see where it goes from here. Trump is almost assuredly guaranteed to:

  1. Favor his right leg;
  2. Slur;
  3. Commit one or more malapropisms;
  4. Lie;
  5. Lie;
  6. Talk about what a victim he is.

Hopefully he won’t do his transgender athlete schtick again but you never know.

    • Polls, like scientific studies, are only as accurate as the methods used to collect data. IMHO, many polls today are designed to manipulate voters’ opinions rather than to measure them. One pundit predicted that the Trump-friendly polls will be cited as “evidence” that if Biden wins, it must be fraudulent. In the MAGA era, the GOP can win only with tricks and deceit.

  3. Since he’s the Chosen One by the Almighty himself…er…herself…itself(?), shouldn’t he win ALL 50 states? I heard the last guy healed the blind, the lame, and the demon possed. Shouldn’t the Chosen One be able to cast out those woke demons we all struggle with? What’s he waiting for???? Melania to come back home? Praise bronzer, hairspray, girdles for men and Depends…products doing the Lord’s work on earth! Amen and Hallelujah!
