I get a lot of press releases, because even though PZ is but a fly speck in cyberspace, it is large enough to attract parasitical behavior (backlinks to porn sites and the like) and announcements of oddball cultural events. What you’re about to see are two examples of yet another expansion of the Cult of Trump into the media sphere. This first clip is a *TV series* called Liberty Gulch. The characters are all AI generated and they feature Trump’s bastardization of the names of Democratic politicians, like Gavin “Sluesome” in this incarnation. Which I suppose is better than “Newscum” which is what Trump usually calls the Governor of California.

Only seeing is believing, right? This is an interesting propaganda format, n’est ce pas? You have a venerated cultural vehicle, the western, a genre invented here in America and beloved by all the world, and of course Trump and his coterie become the heroes, whereas Kamala Harris is depicted as a total outsider and agitator — anti-American, in other words. Well, at least the racism and misogyny are not veiled, I suppose there’s some virtue in candor. And if you think that’s bad, you’re not going to believe this next opus. AI Trump speaks the lines, “We are living in the land of milk and honey. But lest we forget, our enemy wants to exchange fentanyl for milk and hemlock for honey.” OMFG. If I wrote dialogue that bad, I’d blacklist myself.

It’s almost enough to make one want to not look in the inbox, isn’t it? And again, you get the gist of it all, which is in the most simplistic terms that Trump is perfect, everything he touches turns to gold, and the entire world is turning positively green with envy. Sheer madness. But it’s madness delivered at a cartoon level, with very strict lines between the good guys vs. the bad guys.

Anybody fed a straight diet of this, especially since childhood, is going to believe it. I loved comic books growing up. They were my first form of entertainment and I looked at them from a very early age, before I could read. I could at least follow the action from the drawings. When I learned how to read at the age of six, then I got a soundtrack as it were, and my comic book reading experience was complete. I had movies running in my head of Superman, Batman, the entire Justice League.

I think growing up on comic books is a great thing. George Lucas also was a comic book aficionado and he got the same basic archetypes from that source that we all did. The heroes were selfless, the villains were sociopaths, love was pure, it was a simple clean universe. All that got translated into the Star Wars ethos.

Here we see the same process. The MAGA cult talking points are presented in a comic book format, with Trump and Musk as the heroes. You are living in a very phuqued up world, AI generated or not, when Trump and Musk are your heroes.

But again, look at the target audience. I have no idea if anybody is actually watching this TV series and movie, but if they are, and if it’s kids of a certain age bracket, they’re being indoctrinated. This is no different from the Thought Police and the Junior Spies or Youth League of Orwell’s 1984. The idea was to raise children with the idea of absolute loyalty to the state and Big Brother. The Junior Spies were indoctrinated to report their own parents for infractions of loyalty to Big Brother. You think Stephen Miller isn’t in love with this concept?

Let’s see this for what it is, a tool to indoctrinate the young. This is pretty terrible to bastardize both AI and the basic comic book genre in service to preparing children for a MAGA authoritarian state. But if you see any other purpose in these film clips, please share what that is. Trump is the MAGA cult leader and we make the assumption that when he’s out of the picture, MAGA goes with him. Clearly, a lot of people don’t want that to be the case.

Evil never dies, it just reinvents itself.

Zoomers, I know you’re hit on for money everyplace that you read, every single day. And I have not made it a practice to ask for money before this year. We have been in a world of hurt since November 5 and that status has been compounded by my own personal health problems which took me out of the game for the past few months. So if you can help us keep going, it would be appreciated. I have every confidence that as the midterms approach, interest in politics will revive. Thank you for all you do. Ursula

  1. Somewhere in space and time this nazi pissant is already dead. We just have to endure the evil until then. When the cult leader dies so does the cult. Human stupidity, greed, racism, etc., will still be with us unfortunately.

  2. OK, I must admit that I couldn’t do much more than a couple of minutes of either one. I do have a question: what was that smoke/stem coming out of the handle of that mug? Why did AI think that was a good idea?

  3. Hmm. So, how much money is Drumpf being paid to use his likeness here? Sure, Drumpf loves flattery but he loves money even more than mere ego-boo. I can’t see this stuff staying around too long if the producers are making money from it (and you know they’re not doing it for free–there’s got to be some grift involved) and Drumpf’s not getting a healthy chunk of it.
