Apologies upfront. This is in no way breaking news, nothing particularly important, not even that uniquely insightful, just further information on one man’s desperation and need to feed an ego that couldn’t be contained even as President of the United States.
While most presidents cannot wait to get their lives back – normal lives, private lives, Trump needed that “center of attention” thing so badly that he was outraged upon learning that he didn’t have a press pool to gather when he wanted to rant.
*Juxtaposed against Trump is Obama, who – on leaving the Capitol, flew to the South Pacific for a vacation with Richard Branson, on Branson’s yacht with Tom Hanks and his wife.

According to the Post, one example of this was when Trump wanted his team to call on a press pool — reporters who travel with presidents — for an event at Mar-a-Lago. Advisers had to break the news to Trump that this was no longer a possibility.
“We had to explain to him that he didn’t have a group standing around waiting for him anymore,” an unnamed former aide told the Washington Post.
Sweet Jesus writing a psychology textbook, what would it be like if he didn’t live in a luxury enclave, not unlike the White House, where people stand and clap when he comes in to eat and then stand and clap when he leaves?
The transition was rough:
“The appetite for attention hasn’t waned, but that’s where he gets it now,” an unnamed Trump confidant told the Washington Post.”The networks don’t carry his rallies. He doesn’t get interviews anymore. He can’t stand under the wing of Air Force One and gaggle [with reporters] for an hour.”
To any non-sociopathic narcissist, it sounds like heaven. But this guy is one of a kind. The same Washington Post story says that Trump has a young aide who goes golfing with him. She searches the net for good stories about him, or good quotes, praise, whatever, sometimes even printing them out – on the golf course. Breathe that in for a moment. How much would someone have to pay you to humiliate yourself by asking someone to ride around and find fantastic things to stroke your ego? I cannot even invest in a taco right now, but the price for one’s dignity in that scenario could reach into eight figures.
Anyway, it’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt. The article does mention that Trump is “running for president again,” and yet he’s not doing the things that candidates for the president do. He isn’t building a staff. He’s not out campaigning… it’s almost like he’s sitting around waiting for something big to happen. Wonder what that could be?

He got attention before he was president, though not with a “press pool” following him around. Sounds like he got the idea that living in the WH was How It Was Supposed To Be, and can’t give it up.
I’ll admit it. I enjoy seeing ASSHOLES fall. Trump’s fall is increasing in speed, and I don’t think what parachutists know as terminal velocity will slow him down anymore. Here’s the best part when you consider all those he’s fucked over during his despicable life: It’s not the long fall that will kill him, or the sudden stop at the bottom. It’s the realization that not only will no one help him, they are shouting DIE ASSHOLE at him as he falls past them!
