Trump continues to soften the battlefield for the inevitable announcement that he is ordering an investigation of the investigation and firing Rosenstein, and replacing him with someone who will fire Mueller. Today, he tweeted with deep sadness that “lives are being destroyed” by the investigation.
Who’s going to give back the young and beautiful lives (and others) that have been devastated and destroyed by the phony Russia Collusion Witch Hunt? They journeyed down to Washington, D.C., with stars in their eyes and wanting to help our nation…They went back home in tatters!
Oh, god, let us count the number of ways we can tear this thing apart.
I suppose the first place to start is with the fact that far more of the people who came to DC with “stars in their eyes” have left due to being unceremoniously fired by Donald Trump, people like James Comey, Rex Tillerson, Hope Hicks, probably one quarter of the State Department, ….Trump doesn’t give a shit about other peoples’ lives that he’s destroyed.
Speaking of which, he wants to talk about lives destroyed, or cares about lives destroyed? How about the number of people who have come from war torn central American countries seeking political asylum, only to have their children ripped from their arms as they are jailed and the children placed in a system where the government has already managed to “lose” 1,500 according to a guest on Chris Hayes show “All-In” on Friday.
Last, the only life he cares about – his – that might be “destroyed” is due to the fact that he’s a criminal who keeps acting like a criminal. Were he innocent, he would voluntarily run to Mueller’s office, sit down, and talk about what’s happened, tell his side of the story. Of course, that is not going to happen because if we all know one rule it is that criminals don’t talk to the police and make the prosecution’s case that much easier. Trump intends to be the first president ever to refuse to speak to a special counsel because he doesn’t care, and he is guilty, just like the fact that he was the first president to never disclose his tax returns. He openly flaunts the norms, because the norms will get him jailed.
