President Trump on Friday promised reporters winging their way with him on Air Force One that he’d bring up the issue of election meddling when he meets with Russia’s Vladimir Putin next month.
But Trump couldn’t bring himself to rule out lifting sanctions or recognizing the Kremlin’s annexation of Crimea.
“We’ll be talking about elections. We don’t want anybody tampering with elections,” said the man who is president because someone tampered with his election.
Reporters asked Trump if he might lift the sanctions imposed on Moscow over election interference and Putin’s takeover of Crimea. According to The Daily Beast, the president appeared to “soften” his stance.
“We’ll see what Russia does. We’re going to be talking to Russia about a lot of things. We’re going to be talking to them about Syria, we’re going to be talking to them about Ukraine. We might even be talking about some of the things President Obama lost, like Crimea, that could come up.”
“Some of the things that Obama lost”? … What a mother ffff.
Asked if he may go against the rest of the international community and recognize Crimea as part of Russia, he said, “We’re going to have to see.”

The entire world outside of the Kremlin lives in agreement that the Crimea is part of the Ukraine – as claimed by the Ukraine and recognized by the United States government up until this point, Trump will not categorically state that Putin may not change Trump’s mind on the issue. Instead, it seems that that Putin may “know something” that will convince Trump that Russia has a cognizable claim to the Crimea.
United States policy, the policy of the richest nation on Earth and a nation of over 300 million people, up to the whims and self-interest of an proudly incurious man, ever in it for himself.
