Wednesdays are off days for Donald Trump and his criminal trial. In Judge Merchan’s “freezing” courtroom. It’s not so much the judge gave Trump a break by giving him a day off during the week. He’s got other cases to deal with, and motions and hearings on them and general business of other trials pending on his calendar. Until earlier I’d forgotten that if not for Trump himself being on trial another big (literally) figure from Trump World was up for trial in Judge Merchan’s courtroom. Yep, Steve Bannon’s trial had been scheduled to start this month, the merry month of May 2024.
Much as I’d like to see Bannon behind bars (WTF is taking so long with his appeal of his contempt of Congress sentence? Peter Navarro was tried after Bannon and is sitting in jail as I write this!) I’m cool with Bannon getting yet another delay. I don’t know about you but I’m enjoying seeing Trump actually suffering. (And for Trump just having to sit in court and STFU all day IS suffering) In the meantime, as you can see in this article from Mediate Sloppy Steve as Trump likes to call Bannon was forced to enter the Merchan “Meat Locker” for a little pre-trial work.

While Bannon continues to profit off of Trump’s supporters and present himself as their hero, he stands accused of defrauding them. He has been charged with committing two counts of money laundering in the second degree, two counts of conspiracy in the fourth degree, one count of scheme to defraud in the first degree, and one count of conspiracy in the fifth degree for raising money to build a wall at the southern border in 2019, but then using the funds raised to enrich himself and others involved in the scheme.
Trump pardoned Bannon, who was indicted on federal charges over the matter in August 2020, on his last day in office, but the pardon does not apply to state charges.
Bannon getting that pardon didn’t sit well with Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg as thousands of New Yorkers donated to Bannon’s fraudulent wall building scheme. So he’s charge him “stateside” and Bannon started making like Trump and stringing things out. I got a sense elsewhere judge Merchan had run out of patience with Bannon, and wanted to get this done. However it’s understandable why Bannon won’t go on trial this month as planned. Oh well. In a way we might get a special treat. If the appeals court on the contempt charge gets off it’s butt and orders Bannon to do his four months this could be fun.
Let’s say they don’t rule until summer. Bannon gets ordered to a federal prison to do his four months, counting on it being someplace like Navarro is. Not a pleasant place by any means but it could be a lot worse. If, in the middle of that his trial in Manhattan starts the feds will transport him up there and turn him over to the state perhaps. I wonder how he’d like spending nights at Rikers for a while? I think that might wipe that smug smile off his face!
Well, I could go on and on but I mostly just wanted to let you know two things. First why the judge isn’t making Trump show up for court on Wednesdays, and second that among the other fish judge Merchan has to legally fry he’s got mini-whale Trump associate Steve “Two Shirts” Bannon to prep to get roasted on the spit. The best part is that Bannon will likely pull some of the same crap Trump has pulled when his trial time comes. They really should allow cameras in court up there because the look on Bannon’s face when unlike Trump he engages in contempt and gets treated like any other defendant (“Bailiff, take him to Rikers for the night) will be priceless.

The Evil will have to pay sooner or later, since all the crap these no-accounts from Trump’s former chaos have done to our Country, should, by definition, swing around and bite the offenders in their asses …
Some, are already finding it difficult to sit in a chair like normal people, but, at the same time, it seems like the nimrods are getting away with crummy delays and there are a LOT of guilty GOP losers out there that need to be flushed from Congress, BOTH sides of the Capitol complex …
I’m not sure how deep the cut should go, but every one of them, (The Republicans), should be replaced because of their continued support of the worst loser in the World, pretending to be OUR president …
If SCOTUS doesn’t grant Trump total immunity, and he and his sycophants go to trial in D.C. and GA, just knowing how much Donnie will hate having to deal with two Black women who are much smarter and better educated than he is, and he’ll have to sit in silence or he’ll end up.ballgagged, gives me such a,warm feeling.
