Trump has long obsessed over the Nobel Peace Prize, thinking he actually deserves one. His whining and complaining has gotten lots of attention over time, but he’s got another obsession that should be talked about (more like ridiculed) more than it should. Trump believes HE deserves the Medal of Honor, also known as the Congressional Medal of Honor. Seriously! Trump thinks he deserves our nation’s highest honor and bad as that is, saying so (he claims he was joking) at the actual Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington, Texas yesterday TO people who actually earned it is an insult that deserves widespread condemnation.
That Trump would so much as set foot in the Medal of Honor museum is sacrilege on the level of crapping on the alter at the National Cathedral in DC. However since he was in nearby Dallas to bloviate to the GOP ‘Midterm Convention’ (? Let’s hope the first one ever was the last one) for two nights in a row he decided to go try and grab some Stolen Valor according to The Mirror US.Â
Imagine being a Medal of Honor Recipient, or a loved one or friend of one or even just a regular person who wanted to honor those who gave so much. That you planned a visit to that museum yesterday to quietly offer thanks and respect to those special individuals. And then Trump stomps in and starts up talking about he’s the equal, if not better of any person who’s ever been awarded an honor that requires such extraordinary risk, sacrifice, blood and even often recipient’s lives to earn sayin he deserves the honor. As much, if not more than any of those (including actual recipients present) honored. But Trump did just that:
“The thing I really want is I want is, myself, a congressional Medal of Honor,” Trump said, before a room of veterans. “And I’ve studied it. I’d give it to myself, I’d have no problem, but I’m not allowed to.”
“Can you believe it? The one thing I’m not allowed to do,” Trump said, earning a laugh from the crowd.
However, users online were less amused by his comment. One wrote, “Standing among actual Medal of Honor recipients and thinking about what award you should get is an incredible level of narcissism.”
Personally I think most of those present (politely) laughed AT him. Sort of with the mindset of world leaders at that U.N. General Assembly years ago who literally laughed at Trump when he laid a bit of his campaign schtick on them. Of course Team Trump claims it was ‘just joking.’ Again I call bullshit. Trump covets that Medal almost as much (if not as much) as the Nobel Peace Prize. As far as I’m concerned it was a disgusting moment:

Luckily for Trump today is the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and comments about him will mostly be his ducking the main ceremony up in NYC. In case you forgot or didn’t know Trump will after giving remarks at the Pentagon (wasn’t about to let Petey Boy Hegseth be the star) be winging his way to Ireland (at taxpayer expense of course) to attend the Irish Open golf tournament which is being held at a course he owns. If only he’d stay there! Anyway Trump has long fancied himself the hero. He did after all make note of his personal Vietnam – dodging STDs in NYC nightspots having gotten all those deferments to avoid actual military service. Funny how those magic bone spurs didn’t stop him from busting moves on the dance floor but I digress.
Trump is well known for his attitude towards those who serve in the armed forces. We are ALL “sucker and losers” to him. We count for nothing, as his recent comment about those killed in his stupid, disastrous Iran War were ‘small potatoes.’ But, but (but but but) he and his worshipers say he’s been subjected to death threats! So has every other President and some were actually shot, even killed. But he ‘took a bullet for Democracy’ to which I call bullshit. He got nicked on the ear by a piece of shrapnel. Despite the short distance, a scoped rifle fired by a shooter in the prone position under perfect (great visibility and no wind) conditions no bullet came within five feet of him. That’s a different and longer topic but the plain fact is that any wound to the head usually bleeds like hell – even a nick to the ear which was when Trump left the hospital in Butler covered with a regular freaking band-aid!
Still, Trump thinks he’s some ‘bigly’ hero. He thought so long before that day in Butler and he’s thought so ever since. He’s regularly denigrated people including top generals and top enlisted with decades of experience including actual combat. Remember what he said about John McCain? That McCain was no hero and that he, Trump ‘likes people who didn’t get captured.’  He’s made crass comments about those who’ve been wounded, and lost limbs and even their lives. Yet he thinks HE, who did everything he could to avoid any type of military service thinks HE is deserving of the Medal of Honor. FYI, for those who don’t know the Congressional Medal of Honor Society lists the criteria on their website:
The standards to award the Medal of Honor have evolved over time, but the Medal has always stood for actions that go above and beyond. The current criteria were established in 1963 during the Vietnam War.
The Medal is authorized for any military service member who “distinguishes himself conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty
While engaged in an action against an enemy of the United States;
While engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing foreign force; or
While serving with friendly foreign forces engaged in an armed conflict against an opposing armed force in which the United States is not a belligerent party.”
Any of that sound like Trump? Hell NO! Or as I so often heard during my active duty days in the Corps “Not only NO, but F**K NO!!!! During Vietnam Donald Trump wasn’t fit to clean the water buffalo sh!t off the boots of those who served there. Nor has he displayed any courage or heroism since. I’m downright offended and appalled he would soil a place of honor, be it Arlington National Cemetery or the Medal of Honor Museum by waddling his fat orange, (literally) stinking ass into such places. I realize that deep down inside Trump knows what a coward he is. He hates himself for it but hates those who proved they are NOT cowards even more. So he goes to a special place and tells special people (and their loved ones and friends) he’s every bit as good as they are. And complains he doesn’t have a Medal of Honor of his very own.
Well, at least he didn’t stand there and ask actual recipients (or their survivors) to give him theirs! I wonder what the line in Vegas is on when he actually does say that during a Medal of Honor ceremony. Or goes ahead and awards one to himself. It’s easy enough, especially if the recipient is an enlisted guy to say ‘You know I deserve one of these so I’m sure you don’t mind letting me have yours.’ Or just grabbing it like he did that FIBA Peace prize and hang it around his own neck because he couldn’t be bothered to wait for the head of FIBA to do it!
Maybe Congress will one day create a special Trump Medal of Honor with the Act stating he will be the only recipient. The ribbon would be red like one of his too long ties. And the ‘medal’ would be a literal turd encased in plastic. A piece of sh!t just like him. Ok, so that’s not going to happen. However Trump no longer thinks any rules apply to him. So, what I fear might actually happen is Trump deciding to have Hegseth dig up a Medal of Honor from wherever the Pentagon gets them from and have a ceremony at the WH where he hangs it around his neck himself. As I alluded to earlier if Vegas hasn’t already laid odds on that they should.
Well, it would be nice if someone would remind Drumpf that he had the chance to serve in the military but got FIVE deferments (four for his college attendance and then the infamous “bone spurs” which apparently got better since he doesn’t seem to have any problems with his cheating-at-golf game). And, on top of that, I would hope every single living member with a Medal would do the truly honorable thing and melt it down if Drumpf did somehow connive a Medal of Honor (and, right now, I wouldn’t put it past his lackeys and sycophants in Congress) considering Drumpf actually *boasted*–back in 2016–that he had HIS “Vietnam” by avoiding STDs in New York during the 70s.
He’s too chicken to take up arms in defense of our country, but he has no problem beating on women. Yet, he says stuff like this. Delusional and narcissistic much?
