If you’ve ever watched the return of our fallen troops to Dover Air Force Base you know how solemn such moments are. Or are supposed to be. It’s called Dignified Transfer and for good reason. No President who’s attended on was so crass, so disrespectful as to wear a freaking hat, much less a f**king baseball cap. Until Donald J. (for Jagoff) Trump.
President Obama was the first to, when he could head over to Dover for the ceremony. It’s a short hop from DC. Biden also would attend when he could. It’s not like Trump wasn’t aware of the protocols – he’d attended Dignified Transfer ceremonies himself in the past. He was more or less behaved and didn’t make a scene or try to turn it into being about HIM. Well, once again Trump has soiled something pure. He stood there wearing a white ballcap with gold USA lettering like some effing cheerleader for his stupid war.

As seen below, President Trump wore a white golf hat with gold USA letters to the ceremony and kept it on. No other attendees, with the exception of military personnel, wore a hat.
Former RNC chairman Michael Steele responded on social media by writing: “This fool has ABSOLUTELY no sense of dignity or appreciation for the moment. It is called the Dignified Transfer for a reason. Take your damn hat off!!”
Steele wasn’t the only one to weigh in. Tom Nichole is currently a writer for The Atlantic but he’s also a former professor at the U.S. Naval War College. He posted a tweet simply saying “The president is wearing a white golf cap. At Dover.” Apparently some took offense so he clapped back and was brutally direct:
“I’m a grown man who knows not to wear a hat during this kind of event”
Again, this wasn’t cold weather or even a rainy day on which Trump might have worried that even with an umbrella his floofy, duckass combover hairdo would get frazzled looking. Nor did he at least wear a formal men’s hat. Nope, he went with a jingoistic baseball cap. One to try as I said to sell his effing war of choice, without which those troops wouldn’t have died from Iran shooting back. No, in a ceremony carefully designed to honor THEM the flaming orange human shaped rectum we know as Donald Trump took attention away from those who made the ultimate sacrifice for this country. He just HAD to grab some of the spotlight instead of standing off to the side and allowing the focus of the ceremony being our war dead.
How f**ked up is it that my first reaction was ‘At least he didn’t wear a fooking MAGA hat?’ That’s how far we’ve fallen. Well, it’s not like Trump has once ounce of respect for those who serve. He never has. All of us who’ve chosen to wear our country’s uniform are suckers and losers. He was raised to believe that. Remember, not one member of the Trump family (on either side) has EVER served in uniform, either here or back in the home countries of his ancestors going back at least to his grandparents.
You know what was going through Trump’s mind, as he internally griped about “wasting time”? Ten bucks says it was two things: 1) ‘I want to be playing golf instead of being here for this sh*t’ and 2) “I prefer troops who don’t go getting killed.” I hope Trump gets raked over the coals over this appalling lack of respect. Wouldn’t it be great if a family member of one of the fallen did what retired General John Kelly should have done when Trump stood at the grave of Kelly’s son in Arlington in 2017 and insulted the sacrifice? Punch/slap that fat orange Trump mouth? I swear I hope if Trump pulls a similar stunt in the future and perfunctorily greets the families someone will do just that. Punch/slap him so hard his f**king hat goes flying.
Maybe that’s what he wants. To catch enough crap from pundits and politicians that aides won’t ever, EVER again bug him to at least make a show of caring about fallen troops by heading over to Dover AFB. I hope, I really do that someday when we experience the ghastly spectacle of Trump’s over-the-top-in-grandiosity state funeral have some member of the casket detail who’s at the end of their enlistment. With no f**ks to give. And who ‘accidently-on-purpose’ trips on the Capitol steps causing the casket to fall and burst open. Complete with the sight of Trump’s fat ass rolling down the steps! Now THAT would be the kind of UN-dignified transfer Trump deserves.
Friends, I know everyone begs you for money. I promise, among all those asking for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a group of old, disabled people, except for one writer in his mid-50s. The rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. JFC! I am so furious I’m having trouble typing!!!!! Why in the HAIL is it so hard for him to do the right thing? Presidents are *supposed* to honor those who have passed on, especially those in the military killed in a WAR. *HIS* war! But he has to be tone deaf and do the wrong thing. What a way to DIShonor those servicemembers’ lives. I agree about his fat, dead a$$ rolling down the steps. That would be a fitting end for him!
Remember when Obama was savaged for wearing a tan suit? We didn’t know it then, but those were the Good Old Days…
If you’re going to make a fashion faux pas, then don’t double-down on it. If Drumpf *had* to wear a cap, the VERY least he should’ve done was to wear a BLACK one (and completely unadorned with anything).
I mean, at least people would be able to say something like, “Can you believe President Dumbass wore a cap? Well, at least it was a dignified black one.”
We must remember that we are not dealing with a grown human being! His actions and words illustrate that he has not gone beyond the age of 12. He has so many daddy and mommy issues that he will never move past the pre-pubescent stage of development! That being said, why in hell is this sad little boy still allowed to throw his tantrums unchecked by all the supposed “grownups” in congress!
