Last Thursday when Trump unsuccessfully tried to steal the spotlight from Kamala Harris as she formally accepted her party’s nomination with her speech at the DNC in Chicago, he traveled to a desolate spot in Arizona’s Coronado National Memorial some fifty miles southwest of Tucson that is often used for Republican photo ops and the like called Montezuma Pass. He chose this spot because it marks the area where a completed section of the wall transitions to piles of unused and discarded materials meant to be used in further construction. There he implied that the finished section of wall behind his ugly face was built by him and the abandoned portion was where the Biden/Harris administration stopped construction. But in reality (a concept Trump is only superficially aware of) the finished wall behind him was built by President Obama and the panels and beams littered on the ground beyond were where he stopped after procuring them at the cost of tens of millions of dollars:

Washington Post on MSN

“MONTEZUMA PASS, Ariz. — A brown ribbon carved a straight gash across a vast, flat desert basin, the only mark of human civilization visible on this wilderness. The partition charged up a steep hill in Montezuma Canyon, then suddenly stopped. Extra pieces lay in piles nearby, rusting monuments to an unfinished campaign promise.

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump came here on Thursday to heap praise on the structure standing to his right — “the Rolls-Royce of walls,” he called it — and lament the unused segments lying to his left. Joining him, Border Patrol union leader Paul A. Perez called the standing fence “Trump wall” and the idle parts “Kamala wall,” after Trump’s Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris.

Those labels were inaccurate. This section of 20-foot steel slats was actually built during the administration of President Barack Obama. Trump added the unfinished extension up the hillside, an engineering challenge that cost at least $35 million a mile. The unused panels of 30-foot beams were procured during the Trump administration and never erected.“

But of course, these facts that belied Trump’s dishonest narrative represented only a portion of his political fuckery… there is more…

“This spot along the U.S.-Mexico border, quickly accessible from nearby Sierra Vista, has often served as the backdrop for Republican photo ops. The scenery here did not attest to the fearsome migrant caravans or invasions of military-age foreign men that Trump often describes. There was no evidence here of Trump’s depiction of vicious criminals and terrorists, cannibals and infectious hordes, or people sent directly from prisons and mental institutions pouring over the border. There was no sign of foot traffic over such hostile, shadeless wilderness, other than a small patrol of Mexican authorities on the other side…

…For Trump, a campaign stop here on Thursday had larger meaning. It was an attempt to recapture the storyline of this presidential race from Harris, who wrapped up an ebullient Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Thursday evening. For Trump, visiting the border was also something of a spiritual homecoming to the place that has animated his candidacy and movement since 2015.

But the reality on the ground was not as straightforward as the “Build the Wall” chant that electrified his campaign eight years ago suggested. His vow to finish the wall, now formalized in the Republican Party platform, highlights the uncomfortable fact that he did not finish it in his first term, and Mexico did not pay for it, as he once promised it would.”

No caravans, no cannibals, no hordes, only a tired old man seeking to smear his opponent with innuendo and fabricated lies.

And that isn’t really news given Trump’s record.

Perhaps the bigger headline of the event should have been the condition of his face:

Eric couldn’t do worse.

🤣🤣🤣

Yup

🤣🤣🤣

The bright Arizona sunlight exposed more than a few of Trump’s lies that day…

  1. In one Seinfeld episode, George was trying to scam the unemployment agency. He told the lady he was employed by the Van De Lay company as a latex salesman. He gave them Jerry’s phone number. He then told Jerry he had to answer the phone as that company. Elaine, Kramer,George and Jerry were at his apartment. Jerry stepped out for a moment, and George went to the bathroom. When the phone rang, Kramer answered. It was the lady calling. George heard Kramer tell her the truth. He came screaming out of the bathroom, pants around his ankles, tripped, and fell face down. Jerry walked in at that moment and said: “and you want to be my latex salesman!”
We should all show up to vote and say to Trump…and YOU want to be president? Yeah. Right.

  2. I don’t care if you’re a magat or an actual thinking and caring person, but would you let your uncle/father/grandpa or anyone you cared about go out looking like the xitter pics of trump shown above? It’s as bad as if his family let him wander about in a t-shirt and nothing else f.f.s. This is ridiculous and shameful! What is wrong with that effed up family?

I did not get along with my father. We never agreed with what the other said/believed/etc. and after I left home we seldom spoke. That said, if my father was embarrassing himself like this I would speak with A.P.S., a mental health professional, and an attorney about how best to protect the man. It doesn’t even take filial devotion, unwavering support, love, nothing–it is just human decency.

    As it always has been.

But not as badly smeared as his make-up.
