I wish Mary Trump would chime in on this, in her capacity as a psychologist. Here you have a son who *used to* hate his father but now does what? Venerates him? Is that how we are to interpret these weird memes on social media? Or, is Donald Trump, Jr. just going along with the gag and playing up his father’s worst impulses, because he still hates him and wants to put him in a bad light? And beyond that, what does Dad think about any of this? Does Trump find it amusing to find an AI version of his tubby self in a parody of a sexy ad or in this case, throwing a dildo at a group of basketball playing women at the White House? The caption on Instagram is “without further comment” followed by laughing emojis. So what’s the gag? Oh, misogyny is hilarious now, is that it? This has been happening at female athletic competitions, disturbing and disrespecting the women on the court by throwing sex toys at them and so isn’t it a thigh slapper to depict the sitting president as participating in such harassment?
The meme was made in reference to a recent series of incidents at WNBA games where audience members tossed dildos onto the court, as part of a viral trend started by a crypto company. The trend has been used to sexualize and demean athletes during games, with some of the players being purposefully targeted with airborne sex toys. Since July 29, there have been at least six incidents at games, frustrating players, coaches, and fans.
For Trump Jr., the meme seems to be the perfect intersection of furtive interests in both misogyny and cryptocurrency—something he and his dad have in common! Trump Jr. recently purchased 350,000 shares of a hemorrhaging social media firm for a stake in its bitcoin stockpile, as Trump Media & Technology Group has raised $2.3 billion to create a “treasury” of Bitcoin.
A lot of the comments on the post appeared to be people asking for more information on alleged sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein—a promise the Trump administration made but then clawed back. Brian Glenn, a right-wing propagandist and boyfriend of MAGA Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, responded enthusiastically.
“Greatest IG account. Ever,” Glenn wrote.
Trump Jr. replied, “you’re welcome.”
Oh yes, absolutely: let’s show Trump harassing women on Instagram. Wonderful thing. It must impress the rest of the world, too, and raise our standing, wouldn’t you suppose? Just by the by has anybody seen Emmanuel Macron or King Charles or Chancellor Merz of Germany involved in similar memes? Mark Carney, perhaps? No You haven’t and you won’t. That’s the point. We are the laughing stock of the world and again, I’m not sure where Junior’s motivation lies.
Is he mocking Daddy for the creep that he is? Or is he all in for it? Or, maybe Junior doesn’t know where he stands anymore himself. I would believe that he is that lost. He seeks to own the libs and what he’s achieved is a giant self own of how clueless and tone deaf that he is, to the point of being a sociopath.
I’ve decided there is nothing normal about anyone in this family. The worst thing is that they have a public platform to broadcast their insanity.
I don’t know what Junior hopes to gain by this. That’s why I question his motivation. If he wants to make his father look even worse, then this makes sense. And maybe that’s it. As I said, I don’t think this is owning the libs, I think this is a self own.
Donald’s eldest son’s a sad case from all angles: unloved just as was Donald, unloving just as is Donald, vulgar and stupid just like Donald, and saddled for eternity as being just “Junior.” If he’d had the balls to leave long ago, he might well have survived with less severe damage. As it is, cushioned by drugs and moving only within the MAGAt bubble, his decline will be slow and awful, but absolutely irreversible.
His cousin Mary did say that much, that Junior “never became his own person.” He folded for the easy money and power and now he stays loaded. He’s still young, only 44, but I can’t see him doing drugs and being okay for the next forty or fifty years. I think he’ll OD or if he tries to get clean, he’s going to find it a horrific journey. I don’t know if he’s ever been clean and sober.
I’d just like to remind everyone that the GOP have been trying to paint themselves as the “defenders” of women, especially in SPORTS, against the supposed onslaught of trans women “invading” women’s spaces (again, with an added recent emphasis on women’s sports) but where are the GOPers, particularly of the female ilk, condemning these little “pranks”?
