If still at DHS Corey Lewandowski feels like someone’s looking over his shoulder it’s for good reason. Trump seems to be taking a not so friendly look at Lewandowski who for years had been not just a fierce supporter but an advisor. However in this second Trump term Corey has been over at DHS, continuing a long affair with former DHS head Kristi Noem when not, as reporting indicates actually running the place. This won’t end well for Lewandowski who so far is still at DHS.
Lewandowski lest we forget was married when he was screwing around with Hope Hicks during Trump’s first term. Trump himself crudely joked about it, once causing Hicks to flee the room in tears. So clearly Trump, a serial adulterer himself has no issues with Lewandowski on that front. However in his carrying on with Kristi (Noem) ole Corey was living high on the hog and soaking up bennies like he was a Cabinet Secretary himself. Trump, being Trump was probably ok with him doing some grifting as long as Trump got a cut for himself.
Still, all the lavish spending and the trips on govt. planes meant lots of time renewing membership in the Mile High Club which Trump HAS to resent. Do you think for one second Melania consented to a tryst on Air Force One? It’s easy to imagine her hissing “Don’t ee-ven theenk about it. Eeff you try I cut off your nastee leetile funnee shape deek!” It wasn’t just the $220 million ad campaign Noem (and Corey) tried to lay at Trump’s feet during that disastrous hearing. That seventy million dollar luxury 737 with its plush bedroom, lounge/bar and all the big screen TVs had to have gotten Trump’s attention. The President’s suite on AF-1 is plush I’m sure but not the flying f**k house that jet was supposed to be.
Well, as we know Noem is out at DHS and headed for some make-work (as in do nothing but STFU and collect your still fat paycheck) job and it was presumed Lewandowski would be out by now himself. It seems he’s not going anywhere until federal agents zip tie him and carry him out. He probably assumed given all his years of ass kissing and playing attack dog for Trump he could stay in DC and hold power. However, according to Raw Story his days are likely numbered.
I mentioned that #220 million ad campaign (which featured Corey in a few spots) but he’s been involved in multiple contracts that are questionable. There’s plenty there for Bondi/DOJ to mount an investigation even if it doesn’t lead to charges. Lewandowski will incur huge legal fees and wind up enduring the same fate as Trump’s Democratic political enemies who he and Bondi know will never spend a day in jail – ‘the process is the punishment’ so to speak. Spend time and a small fortune on lawyers fees. Trump can and likely will coerce Lewandowski to, like Noem STFU and go away in exchange for not siccing the DOJ on him. However it sure looks like Trump is sending a message as in ‘Get the hell OUT of DHS and even (for a good while) OUT of DC:
The 79-year-old president has been peppering aides with questions in recent days about longtime adviser Corey Lewandowski, who had been acting as de facto chief of staff to recently fired Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and his involvement in a controversial $220 million advertising campaign, reported NBC News.
“He’s mentioned the ads several times,” said a senior White House official.
The linked article goes on to state Lewandowski’s denial, his claim to have profited from the ad campaign or anything else, saying he hadn’t made anything, “zero, not one penny” from DHS contracts. That statement in the article is immediately followed with the addition of ‘the President is still suspicious.’ That Trump has been looking at Lewandowski is something he’s apparently talking about, especially the contract for that ad campaing:
“Corey made out on that one,” Trump told advisers last week, according to another senior White House official.
Whether Lewandowski got too big for his britches in flaunting his status and his affair, or failed to provide adequate ‘tribute’ (payoff) to Trump or a combination of the two might never be known. However I’d say that title pic of him looking over his shoulder for sight up Trump, or rather Stephen Miller acting on Trump’s behalf approaching with a (political) knife to stab him in the back. Then again, ole Corey fancies himself a fighter and who knows? He just might decide to tell Trump “NO. I’m not going anywhere and YOU would do well to leave me alone given all the sh*t I’ve pulled on your behalf, some at your direct request.
Keep an eye on this. Lewandowski might take the hint and if Trump does something for him like he did for Noem go quietly. Then again, power is the most addictive of drugs. Power and in particular great power can bring out the best in some people. In others it brings out the worst and when someone’s a P.O.S. by nature it’s a given the latter is the result. But running DHS for Noem is more power than Lewandowski’s ever had in his despicable life. He might not be willing to give it up. As a result we might find ourselves witnessing a major DC sh*t show. Hey, entertainment is where you find it.
