If Donald Trump wins the election he will be the oldest person to ever raise his hand and swear that he will faithfully protect the Constitution. Given this reality, it is that much more jaw-dropping that he has never submitted his medical records. He did not in the past and will not now. The future is open.

This is a serious issue, not so much that he could die in office, all presidents could die in office. But he would also leave an inexperienced and uniquely extreme vice president. Many would like to at least know how extreme that risk might be.

But voters have to face the inherent risks. Trump may be suffering from something that will drive him to even greater extremes. He will do everything to help himself and who knows what that means for us. Or it leaves Vance – who will try to do what he thinks is right for us without really consulting anyone.

According to The New York Times:

As a presidential candidate in 2015, Donald J. Trump declined to release his medical records, instead offering a four-paragraph letter from his personal doctor proclaiming that he would be “the healthiest person ever elected to the presidency.” In 2020, when he was hospitalized with Covid and running for re-election, Mr. Trump’s doctors gave minimal information about his condition, which, it emerged later, was far more dire than their public descriptions let on.

There is another element to this. We should have a sinking suspicion that something weird is going on. Trump likes to brag about his genes – we’ve heard it over and over. If Trump was in good health he would surely come out and show it. And then there is the chance that he cannot face his own death and even he doesn’t know of his condition(s).

Where does that leave the voters? In the same position anyway! It is tough to tell whether anything matters when it comes to who will vote for who in this election. It is possible that some might decline to vote at all. But we will probably never know who stays home. It is probably the voters who cannot pull the tab for a Democrat and yet have had enough of Trump. They stay home. Even then…

Given that it probably doesn’t matter either way leaves him with a pass. He can hold records back based on pragmatism and/or hold them back out of possible embarrassment. But the implications go beyond the vote. We as a nation, whether red or blue, need to prepare for the possibility that he might become unstable and sick in office – which could make him more extreme. It leaves a part of the nation more extreme in the belief that he needs to go.

It is an intractable problem. But there are similar problems without easy answers. Donald Trump is a lot of things but easy isn’t one. For some, it’s his greatest appeal. He is tough and won’t let them down – he hates liberals as much as they do. For others, he’s tough and he hates liberals like us. We are stuck in the same spot, over and over.

  1. Since Orangebob Von Shitzinpantz refuses to release his medical records (and tax records) the only possible conclusion is that he has something to hide! I think he has a lot to hide. For example since he still has his ear, I think that the “assassination attempt” was faked. I wonder what else he is hiding?

    • I don’t think the assassination attempt was faked. I think he just exaggerated the daylights out of it. Of course he is hiding things, that seems to be standard procedure for him.

      • Come on, Jason. Yes, someone died but it does NOT mean the “assassination” wasn’t faked.

Just imagine this scenario: Someone was hired (maybe from the Trump camp itself–that’s where the REAL conspiracy nuts would go) to shoot at Trump and the shooter was basically told that he was NOT supposed to actually hit Trump but not to worry about any other casualties.

We’ve seen plenty of fictional versions of this play out. Someone wants revenge on a particular person but, rather than just kill that person, they stage a series of murders or apparently random shootings to cover the motive for the *intended* victim’s death. And we KNOW for a fact that Team Trump has absolutely no moral center, no sense of scruples–they would be willing to put their man in “harm’s way” (while making sure minimal harm would result).

I’m not saying it didn’t go down this way–perhaps it was a “legitimate” assassination attempt. But given all of Trump’s post-“assassination” behavior, there are more questions about it than are necessary and Trump’s failure to release his medical records (along with going all drama queen and wearing that maxi-pad over his ear for the next week and acting like he had actually been a martyr) really does NOTHING to remove the questions.

Oh, and remember, before 2004, pretty much no one believed that the US Armed Forces would cover up the death of a service member through friendly fire. Then, the truth about what happened to Pat Tillman came to the forefront.

  2. Even without his records he’s an extremely OBESE man who eats a diet that speeds the oncoming dirt nap. Add in he doesn’t walk anywhere, or get any exercise other than flapping his jaws, and you have a heart attack waiting in the wings. We just need him to hang on until after the election.

  3. his health is assumed to be tops by his cult-hell, they think he’s the fucking messiah f.f.s. Any supposed “undecideds” are likely not even looking at his health-if they’re thinking of voting for the putrid ball of pus it is for some lie they believe and they certainly have a lot of lies to choose from.
