Let’s say you had the ability to ask the last… what? the last 13 presidents (skipping Trump), whether they would welcome any consideration to be etched into Mt. Rushmore, exactly 13 would offer to take their own life first. (At 15, you run up against FDR, who might actually deserve consideration. He does have a memorial in Washington. Not many presidents do.) Forget for a moment that many are already dead. Ask them while alive.
Then there is number 14, better known as “45” or “Wanna be 47,” or “the President” (to those around him) or “Donald Trump,” the only man who actively pursued and continues to pursue, having his face carved into Mt. Rushmore. This is a guy so obsessed with Mt. Rushmore that the White House contacted Kristi Noem back in 2019 about the possibility of putting his ugly mug on the magnificent mount, and Noem took it semi-seriously. It is just a testament to how badly she wanted to be on the ticket, kicking the far less pretty Mike Pence off said ticket. (The fact that the President of the United States didn’t know that the federal government controlled Mt. Rushmore and not the state of South Dakota should be disqualifying in and of itself) Of course, the issue as to who controls Rushmore doesn’t even make the top 100 reasons why Trump shouldn’t be next to Jefferson and Lincoln.
Again, propose such a thing to Obama and George W. (make it bipartisan). Both would flee the country. Not Trump. He fcking finds it to be a beautiful idea.Â
So beautiful! FDR – who saw us through the Great Depression and WWII isn’t up there, but the twice-impeached, violent transfer of power and possible conflicts of interest with both Russia and Saudi Arabia deserves consideration while still facing possible indictments? Well, that and he’s just an asshole, and most of his party wouldn’t quarrel with that.

One, maybe going by “Trump” or “the President,” might see himself as perfect while also persecuted worse than Lincoln and perhaps Jesus in an honest moment. How many billions could you collect in an effort to put Obama on Mt. Rushmore just to piss Trump off? Billions to charity (and the effort) while sending Obama to the French Riviera or something to hide him among admirers.
Well, it is nice to know that even with a Republican House and a Republican base that might not even elect him again, there appears to be precious little chance of having that “beautiful” picture of him up there among Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln, for god’s sake. (TDR is sort of a modern – at the time – throwaway). Most people don’t want it ruined, especially the last 13 of 14 presidents.
The exception? Well, he could be the first one with a “beautiful” mug shot.

I’ll say it again. Since Trump wants on Mt. Rushmore then do it only use the BACK side. As in those postcards I saw in various places several decades ago when I attended a convention in SD not far from it. Humous ones, with four bare asses! I say carve a giant ass (paint it orange too) with turds dripping down – into a giant toilet (painted gold of course) to complete the picture. That would be a fitting monument to Trump.
It’s a fitting idea. But it would also be a gigantic slap in the face to those native Americans to whom the land is sacred and the actual Mount Rushmore is itself an abomination. But I’m sure you weren’t seriously suggesting it, but simplymaking a statement.

Not only shouldn’t he be up there, the current faces should be removed as well.
It was an insult to the indigenous people to deface their sacred mountain with the faces of four white men representing the people who stole their land and relegated them to poverty and second-class status.
I don’t have any real objection to Trump being put on Mt Rushmore.
Provided he was staked down properly and it could be proved he wouldn’t poison the vultures.
