The presser today was as chaotic as you would expect. Trump is the wartime Pushmi Pullyou. He entered into the conflict with Iran with all kinds of plans. He was going to get all the uranium, all the oil, effect a regime change, ah it was grand when it was on the drawing board. War usually is. Here’s the stupid reality that we’re in fact left with.

Is he talking about the people of Iran or they’re government? Or he sees one as being the other? Every time Trump opens his ignorant mouth it produces more questions than it answers.
I especially love the answer to the uranium and the atomic bomb. A MAGA of my acquaintance told me Trump got rid of the Iranian nuclear program. I said, “No, he didn’t, he blew up a mountain, that’s all.” The MAGA wouldn’t listen. The word in MAGA world was that there was no H-bomb and their minds don’t allow for any contradiction of the charismatic cult leader.
So out of the blue Trump came up with the reason he struck Iran and that’s because it was a pre-emptive strike on their H-bomb, which was going to be ready in two weeks. Clearly the nuclear program hadn’t been wiped off the earth like Trump said it was, or it wouldn’t have been able to get within two weeks of producing the H-bomb. How did MAGA reconcile that? I can’t call the MAGA of my acquaintance and ask him to explain the discrepancy because he and I no longer speak (which is how it has been with me and MAGA since the beginning.)
My take on this all along has been that Trump wanted a fast war that he could crow about, something along the lines of Desert Storm. Instead he created Operation Epic FUBAR. And now he’s chickening out.
