As a huge ’90s alt-rock fan, I have little use for Journey in much of anything. Journey was junior high school music (As opposed to the more grown-up college stuff of the 90s), and – at least in my mind- will remain forever the province of 13-year-olds who won’t stop believing they’ll, well, you know, soon enough anyway. Still, one cannot argue that Journey does have several anthems, the biggest of which is likely Don’t Stop Believing. For the true fans, I am here to serve. So that happened in 1981 – I think I was still in Little League. Regardless, the song does mean a lot to some people, and I will stop dissing it right now. It should also be noted that a member of the band is married to Trump’s spiritual advisor, Paula White. That alone might take the whole Journey thing down a peg or two with y’all. Then again, we tend to exclude the arts when dismissing all things MAGA. Art of all types should stand on its own, at least in this context.
But Trump has now thoroughly insane-washed the song by attaching it to his persona in some bizarre, “only in 2025” sort of way. According to reporting in Rawstory:

In front of the stage is an adoring patriotic crowd.
Trump then changes from a suit to a red, white and blue outfit and is seen rocking a guitar riff, before moving to a drum kit.

And I thought that the song itself left one wanting! But a person really does have to scour social media to appreciate the bizarre move by a U.S. President – it was not well-received.

We note the degradation of the presidency on a daily basis, but it is actually fairly important to keep a record. We do walk through history, though it never seems so while in the midst of events and mischief. This stuff will be covered in the books, but only if appropriately preserved. So be it. We are all on this Journey, and you better not stop believing that this man’s appetite for all things himself will never be satiated. It is like watching a junior high boy at play.
No wonder he loves this stuff.

Well, somebody on his staff (come on, you know Trump doesn’t have the skills to use AI to create anything!) probably made this as a distraction and it’s been playing on a loop on every screen wherever the hell Trump is today. That would explain something I raised in an article earlier – what was keep Trump from a Truth Social explosion over Rick Wilson’s being on TV calling the WH a whorehouse!
I shudder at what’s next. Trump’s ‘human printer’, the gal who stays next to him searching her phone for favorable Trump articles and printing them out on the spot from a mini-printer on a belt on her waist might be looking for a job soon. THIS will be WAY better to stroke Trumpty’s fragile ego. There’s likely a bunch of this shit already “in the can” tonight to be broken out whenever Trump needs an ego boost!
Ten bucks says with the PGA Championship now concluded they’ve made one of Trump winning the U.S. Open which is the next major on the calendar. With the NHL progressing towards determining who wins the Stanley Cup no doubt we’ll see him ‘humiliating’ Wayne Gretsky and skating around the rink like an Olympic figure skate complete with quad jumps all while holding that huge trophy over his head. Rebranded as the TRUMP Cup of course.
Oh, and speaking of music and his sudden disdain for Taylor Swift, I imagine we’ll see one of her onstage with a booing crowd and beau Travis Kelce (a sure first ballot Hall of Famer) trying to comfort her. Then Trumpty storms out and does a WWF body slam on Kelce, snatches the mike away from Swift who suddenly is enamored with him and begs him to fuck her right then and there and he’ll say ‘Hell no. You’re nowhere near hot enough for the likes of ME and take over the concert as the crowd cheers.
Bottom line as bad as this Journey thing is we’re about to see worse.
Come on everyone…this is real…hey if the MS13 tattoo on that poor soul’s hand in El Salvador is real…then, according to the President, the Attorney General and the MAGAs, this is REAL!!!! Maybe he’ll play a few licks and belt out a line or two on prime time. I also can’t wait til he shuts up the haters by ripping his shirt off and revealing a body that could belong to Superman!!! RIGHT MAGAS??? Where are you guys??? Speak up!!!
