The man is ridiculous. We all know he is sliding into dementia, but this was petty even for him. There are things he didn’t consider when making a change to the White House, and it’s his own damn fault. At least it’s good for amusement for a bit. It’s not good for anything else but amusement. And that’s no surprise. From AlterNet:

President Donald Trump was outraged Saturday after discovering what he described as a “huge gash in the limestone” — spanning more than 25 yards — in the freshly renovated Rose Garden at the White House. The fissure, which Trump said was “deep and nasty,” ignited swift action from the White House. “Who did this, and I want to find out now!”

First part: “huge” “gash”? What is his definition of huge? And what does he mean by a gash? See, this already isn’t making sense. We know his definition of those words is much different than for ours. Limestone isn’t very durable. There are going to be marks any time he has an event that needs tables and chairs. So what’s he going to do then? Replace it with “fresh” stone? If so, he’s going to be doing that a lot, and he doesn’t realize it.

Security footage, boasted by Trump as having been captured by the “finest security equipment anywhere,” revealed that a subcontractor team maneuvering a broken, leaning steel cart over the delicate stone surface was responsible for the mistake. The cart’s scrape inflicted the damage. Trump responded: “The stone will be replaced, the subcontractor will shoulder the cost, and, he vowed, ‘never let that contractor work at the White House again.” “We caught them, cold,” the president added.

Heh, cold as opposed to hot. Okay, that was careless of the contractor, sure, but what an overreaction! It’s a delicate stone and will always be a delicate stone. It’s the security cameras that unnerve me. Yes, it definitely makes sense for the White House. I get that. But it still unnerves me. You get recorded as you go in or go out. Do people even think about that? Anyhow, on to the fun part – the comments on Xitter.

Podcaster Brian Allen wrote: “NEW: Trump’s meltdown over a chipped stone in the Rose Garden reveals everything. He rants like a failed contractor because a worker made a mistake. This is how Trump treats the working class: You’re disposable, mockable, and banned if you mess up.” //// Legal analyst Ben Meiselas wrote on the social platform X: “He’s angrier at a subcontractor than Putin.” //// Melissa Byrne, an activist, wrote: “It’s the client’s job to manage to contractor. Trump’s team failed.”

Good times! The line about Trump’s treatment of the working class is spot on. That means us, folks. We’re part of America that has to work. We’re not gazillionaires. So right out in the open, we see how Trump treats us. The people got him re-elected, and now he is throwing us (and them) away because he got what he wanted (no jail). I’m wondering more and more if we’re going to make it through the next 3 years and some months. We’re going downhill fast.

Zoomers, I know everybody begs you for money. I promise you that of all of the outlets bugging you for spare change, we are the smallest and the hardest working. We’re a bunch of old, disabled people, except one writer in his mid-50s. But the rest of us are in our sixties and seventies, and this is a labor of love. All we’re asking for is the ability to continue our quest to tell the truth about Trump and ensure democracy survives. If you can help, please do. Thanks. Ursula
