I used to find it amusing when Mike Pence would appear before a group of Republicans and behind him there would be a banner: “Promises Made, Promises Kept.” That was long before Trump showed his true colors to Pence, either steal the election with my band of lunatics, including John Eastman, Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell or the mob will come after you. The mob went after Pence and we will all probably go to our graves wondering why he refused to get into the limousine. My theory is that he suspected that he might be assassinated, because that would have been a good side show (very similar to the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, which some people believe was also staged.) I admit to cynicism, because the Era of Trump would make a cynic out of Pollyanna.
In any event, we disgress. The point here is Promises Made and Not Kept. And here is the biggest, most often touted promise of the last election, the overnight settlement of the war between Ukraine and Russia.

I do confess to sheer amazement that Trump admitted he “didn’t make any progress with him at all today.” That is a stunner. I wonder if Trump didn’t get enough sleep or something if the truth is actually leaking out occasionally like that.
That’s not the reason he’s halting military aid to Ukraine. He’s doing it to support Putin in the war.

Um….we might have more weapons if we didn’t waste them fighting Israel’s proxy war with Iran. There’s always that angle to consider. Once again, I weep for Volodymyr Zelensky. He could have and would have what he needs to win a righteous war and protect his people from Putin the invader, if only the American electorate wasn’t insane.
There is no way that the Ukraine war will end any time soon. And Trump is not an aid to that goal, instead he’s the biggest obstacle to be worked around. Interesting how Netanyahu has a blank check and Zelensky has to beg for crumbs, but that is truly the least offense Trump gives. What he’s done to damage his own people is the important thing. And the Big Ugly Bill (plus the Supreme Court deciding to send people to Sudan who have zero ties with Sudan) are just two of the wonderful things that have happened today in this misadministration.

All true. I appreciate the way you bring out the Trump-Putin-Zelensky-Netanyahu nexus.
Where you write, “I do confess to sheer amazement that Trump admitted he “didn’t make any progress with him at all today.” That is a stunner.” — I think Trump reveals the truth when he’s genuinely annoyed. He can’t hold back from signaling that it’s really Putin’s fault. It’s a clue to how Trump’s mind works.
The reason Trump is such a successful bullshitter with millions of impressionable people, is that he is genuinely high on his own supply. The quintessential poster boy for the Dunning-Kruger Effect believes he can do anything. (It’s called “the power of positive thinking.”) In reality, Trump is a person with extreme limitations who has developed certain techniques to get his way, such as deception and bullying. But he’s also fools himself.
When he finds out that he can’s fool or bully Putin, he’s genuinely surprised and frustrated.
We also know that he can’t keep anything completely to himself. But when he says he “didn’t make any progress at all today” with Putin, that’s the truth, but for someone like Trump it’s also extremely low-key and reserved. Never the quitter, Trump adds, “Today,” like maybe tomorrow will be different. But of course it won’t, because in the real world, Trump is completely out of his league — and not just with Putin.
It will ALL be fixed “in two weeks”, which is only 8 days longer than it took God in Genesis to create everything.
