We have been following the happenings associated with Bruce Springsteen’s Land of Hope and Dreams Tour, which has sprung forth a froth of anti-Trump screeds from the Boss himself, all of which has created an ongoing saga involving Trump responses lashed out into the ether, with guest appearances by Neil Young, Bono, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, and other musicians who are A) Sick of Trump and B) Unafraid of Trump’s protestations. To that end, we have new Bruce news. In response to Trump’s “overrated” claim, Bruce is releasing a four-song EP that features Bruce’s comments on the state of the United States – the “anti-Trump” portion of the evening.
According to Variety:
Recorded in Manchester, England on May 14, the EP features four songs and two of his introductions to those songs, which were fiery enough to provoke the ire of President Trump himself, who first insulted Springsteen (shortly after insulting Taylor Swift), and then called for a federal investigation into baseless rumors about whether Springsteen and several others were paid to appear at fund-raisers for Kamala Harris.

So… I’ll be damned. The guy is nearly 80 and yet is putting out new music to this day. Well, and not just music but an F-U to the current president. Bruce knows how to stay alive and relevant; that is certainly true. And it does seem as though all this is getting to Trump because Trump isn’t acting like a president. Again, from Variety:
In a characteristically presidential social media post, Trump responded Wednesday morning with a doctored video that showed him hitting a golf ball followed by a clip of Springsteen tripping onstage, making it appear that the golf ball had knocked the singer over.

Yes, all of this is getting played out. But this time Bruce seems to sense it because he recorded these words, this message, for all posterity. There it will live, along with so much else of this man’s legacy. One of the sweetest souls, still battling the fight he’s always battled, whether it was in creating one of the first racially-mixed bands, gender-mixed, LGBTQ friendly, Vet-friendly, just friendly…
