Stupid is as stupid does and then there is a whole other kind of stupid that Mama Gump never knew about, but Mama Trump could have clued her in on. Mrs. Trump’s little boy, Donald, went to the airport in Sanford, Florida today and when he wasn’t offering to run out into the crowd and kiss beautiful women — a terrific idea during a pandemic — he was telling the good people of Puerto Rico that they owe him a lot and they should do their part to reelect him. So, first things first, here’s 45 bragging about how he’s going to come and maul the crowd, he feels so omniscient.

Then on to Puerto Rico.

America is in such terrific shape right now. CNN didn’t have a first class fact checker and couldn’t find one anywhere in the U.S., apparently, so they hired Daniel Dale down from the Toronto Star. And now Dale fact checks an American *president* who doesn’t know a territory from a state, or maybe he’s thinking it’s like D.C., or God only knows what he *thinks.*

Who knows, maybe whomever is left in the Trump campaign who hasn’t come down with coronavirus will buy some advertising in Puerto Rico? It would not surprise me. You know, maybe that’s the way to play this. Let’s get a bunch of Democrats all hyped up over the polls in Puerto Rico and their electoral votes. Let’s have Biden commit to a bigger buy than in Texas — and see if Team Trump falls for it.

  1. If I’m not mistaken Puerto Rico has a referendum on the ballot about statehood. Not binding I think but to gauge whether they will make the push for it. Something tells me it just got a “bigly” shove towards a resounding “hell yes we should be a state!” I lived in the DC area damn near twenty years and never supported DC statehood – I felt that just as the Virginia portion of the original District of Columbia was ceded back to VA and those people got representation in Congress that the Maryland portion should get to vote for Senator and their own representative with full voting rights. Now? I’m all for adding both DC along with Puerto Rico as full fledged states. Six more electoral votes. It still doesn’t balance out the advantage the GOP has with all those empty of people states in the mountain west but it helps some.

    • Yes, they will vote on election day. It will be the first time they’ll do a referendum on an actual election day (the last, one had 27% turnout) and it’s also the first time it will be a simple, two choice question (statehood? Yes or no). Previously there have been all these other options, creating weird pluralities.

  2. They also ran out of paper towels. Wonder how often el diablo was thrown around (or whatever the equivalent dialect used to describe their contempt).

  3. It’s good to see Dimwit Donny is in favor of Puerto Rico becoming a state.

Otherwise how else would they get to vote in a Presidential Election?

Let’s grant him this one little wish and make Puerto Rico a state when we win.

  4. Let’s get a bunch of Democrats all hyped up over the polls in Puerto Rico and their electoral votes. Let’s have Biden commit to a bigger buy than in Texas — and see if Team Trump falls for it. GREAT idea, Ursula!

  5. Sorry Ursula, and I never thought I would correct you, but “omnipotent”. But I love the piece. Anyone know anyone in the Biden campaign? It IS a great idea!!!
