An interesting picture is taking form here. If you look back on the news of the past few days, Bill Barr made the comment that his old boss Donald Trump on a witness stand would be a terrible idea because the man can’t control himself. And Barr is right. When Trump was on Sean Hannity’s show last week Hannity tried to cue him into saying he had not examined boxes of documents at Mar-a-Lago and Trump plowed right ahead and said that he had, and had a right to do so, thereby confessing in essence to what he was accused of.
Then today a former federal prosecutor said that Trump’s lawyers were undoubtedly terrified he would have one of his “ragegasms” and of course that’s the idea.
Trump had every intention of making a spectacle out of tomorrow’s proceedings and we mean a spectacle, the crazier the better so as to fundraise and do merchandise. He was all set for The Apprentice: Indictment Edition. Now, all that is going bye bye. Trump’s lawyers petitioned the judge and the judge ruled that there will be no TV cameras in the courtroom. That high pitched wail you hear in the background is Trump screaming, as the best laid plans of MAGA mice and orange men go astray. Daily News:
The ex-president’s arraignment will not be televised. […]
Five pool photographers will be let inside the courtroom at 100 Centre St., but video cameras will be confined to the hallways and reporters will be barred from bringing so much as laptops inside, State Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan decided late Monday.
“Never in the history of the United States has a sitting or past President been indicted on criminal charges. Mr. Trump’s arraignment has generated unparalleled public interest and media attention,” he wrote in the ruling.
But Trump’s lawyers asked the judge to deny the news organizations’ motion, arguing it would “create a ‘circus-like atmosphere … raise security concerns and is inconsistent with President Trump’s presumption of innocence.”
Trump believes “the heightened media presence will “inevitably result in prejudice,” his lawyers added. [No Trump doesn’t, but he’s hoping like hell he can spin it that way. Editor’s note]
Merchan noted “that this indictment involves a matter of monumental significance” on his ruling.
Here’s the takeaway:
- Yes, this is an historic occasion. And unlike a lot of occasions in our history, we have the technology to record this;
- BUT
- Recording it is a terrible idea because Trump wants that more than anything. Even though, in all likelihood and logic, he will worsen his case (which is what his attorneys fear and rightfully so) he wants the attention of the cameras.
- He is STARVED without the attention of the cameras. That’s his dopamine high. Next to the screaming crowds, he needs the cameras the most.
- The judge, along with Trump’s own lawyers are the adults and they took Baby’s toys away from him.
And what, oh what, is Trump going to gripe about tomorrow night in Florida, post-arraignment, if there’s zero drama? Zero drama doesn’t make for good fundraising, that’s an axiom you can carve in stone.
Mary Trump is right. Donald is fucked.

The elements are heating up nicely…
Traitor Tot should not be allowed to walk away, but like any other criminal that is a flight risk, he should be imprisoned to await trial!
That won’t happen, but house arrest is a possibility.
My question is…If Trumps jet is seen taking off, pointed east away from the US, should we shoot it down or just let him escaper punishment?
Shoot it down. In light of all the stolen top secret documents, he’s an extreme security risk.
Fat asses “lawyers” are “adults”?
That remains to be seen. Most likely they are no talent grifting hacks like ALL republiCLOWNS.
The new guy, whose name escapes me, supposedly has solid legal bona fides; I noticed how little he had to say after Joe Tacopina shot off his big mouth, so at least one team member can be called grown-up.
How long will this legal team last? The drama in the courtroom may be nothing compared to what’s happening in the backrooms. He’ll fire them all, vent his primal urges, and end up in the general prison population at Riker’s. Pleeease!
If we had done the right thing when the criminal Nixon broke the law, and set up the cannabis laws to criminalize millions, turning them into political prisoners, we wouldn’t be here. Fact. Instead we let him walk and locked up potsmokers. Hypocrisy backed by guns. Do tell me, how is that different than putin locking up protesters for uttering ‘war’? Time to get with the facts or expect more of the same.
