He’s losing more and more of his base. He’s insulting people all across the US with this idiocy. The sad (and annoying) part is that he has no idea that what he’s doing is making people angry. Remember the articles where he was discussing getting into heaven? Now we’re into the Trump as Jesus era. He doesn’t see how wrong it is. He doesn’t care. In the face of intense criticism for posting an AI-generated image of himself as Jesus Christ, President Donald Trump doubled down and posted yet another religious-themed image of himself to his Truth Social platform on Wednesday morning. Trump’s post consisted of a screenshot of an image of Jesus embracing Trump, posted by an account on X, which accompanied it with, “I was never a very religious man … but doesn’t it seem, with all these satanic, demonic, child sacrificing monsters being exposed … that God might be playing his Trump card!”
*snort* Trump card. That one was actually pretty creative. Someone must have helped him with it, since there is a great amount of doubt that he could come up with something like that on his own. He’s not that bright. It makes one wonder what’s going on in the background that he keeps on with the religious images. These certainly aren’t going to help him “get” into heaven. No, he’s much more likely to go down instead of up. Has anyone held his feet to the flames yet?
The post appeared to be referencing longstanding conspiracy theories from the QAnon movement, which holds that Trump is fighting a secret group of child traffickers who control the world. “The Radical Left Lunatics might not like this, but I think it is quite nice!!!” Trump wrote of the post.
Bah. “Nice.” Garbage. We had hoped those ideas had died a quiet death. It appears not. They just went underground for a while. Please do not let this start up again. It makes things worse. We do not need a resurgence on top of all the crap we are already going through. We don’t need our country to crash and burn. We should still be concerned.
Trump’s previous post with the image of himself as Jesus triggered heavy backlash even from politicians and clergy figures who generally support him, drawing accusations of sacrilege and blasphemy — which intensified as Trump simultaneously began lobbing personal attacks at Pope Leo XIV for condemning the bloodshed of the Iran war. The president ultimately deleted that picture, but claimed he didn’t even know it was religious in nature and thought it was depicting him as a Red Cross doctor, which was ruthlessly mocked by some of his erstwhile supporters like mega-podcaster Joe Rogan.
BOOM. When your rabid, die-hard fans start going after you, there’s a big, big problem. It means Trump has gone too far. Dare we hope too far, means over the edge? It’s very difficult to understand what Trump is trying to do. The attacks on Pope Leo make a weird kind of sense. But these religious depictions are plain nuts. Where did these ideas come from, and can they be stopped? If he keeps up this nonsense, he’s going to have a whole lot of the country turn against him. One would think that would matter. But he honestly doesn’t care anymore. Now he’s so unpredictable that we never know what will happen next. That‘s a major concern.
