Guess who simply can’t stand it when somebody else is in the limelight and he’s in the dark? Guess whose tiny immature mind has decided that the best thing he can do is show her, huh, he’s going to take the limelight away! Yes, Sir, he will too! And he’ll tell a Sir story about it afterwards! Donald Trump is going to show everybody who’s boss tonight. While Kamala Harris is capping off the four-day love fest that has been the Democratic National Convention, Trump will be on Truth Social haranguing her and taking her down. Hey, it’ll be good for comic relief, mixing the sublime with the ridiculous. As a matter of fact, the more I see this contest shape up, I think that the sublime and the ridiculous accurately describes the Democratic v. the Republican ticket.
Parsing through that, you see Trump’s mind set. Trump is being cheated. His advisors told him he would run against Joe Biden and now he’s not. The comedy that I find in that is I emphatically don’t believe that this would have been an “easy” race for Trump to win. No, I completely believe, always did always will, that Trump was going to lose again to Biden. And we need not waste time speculating on what might have been. But with this new energy breathed into 2024, now I have no doubt but that Harris/Walz are going to have a terrific victory.
And we need just that, in order to shut Trump up about *stollen* and *rigged,” his favorite words. Also, take a look at the last few sentences in Trump’s edict, accusing Kamala of “weaponizing” the court system against him. He’s clearly petrified about the cases he faces when he loses.
This race is now a new ballgame. The polls have steadily moved in Harris/Walz’s favor and tonight should give them a bigger bump, still. Trump is done. He’s stale. He’s boring. J.D. Vance is doing what he can to do the heavy lifting and most of the campaigning but he’s bombing. And it’s a Catch-22. As the polls sink, the more the gaffes happen and the more the gaffes happen, the more the polls sink.
Even Fox News and Newsmax are cutting away from Trump events. Yes, we’ll take a peek at Trump’s counterprogramming tonight, we always do, but he’s just pissing in the wind one more time. Public sentiment is everything and it is with Harris/Walz. With public sentiment, nothing can fail, as Abraham Lincoln observed. Without it, nothing can succeed. Trump doesn’t have it.
He had it in 2016 because the GOP always votes in a pack so Republicans put him in office. A lot of those same Republicans came to regret their decision almost immediately. That’s why Trump lost in 2020. And Joe Biden being old was not the magical relic or potion that guaranteed Trump a second term. And now, with Harris/Walz on the ticket, Trump doesn’t have a prayer.
And he knows it. He’s listless and going through the motions of campaigning but his heart’s not in it. And you can see it. So let’s watch him make a fool of himself on his social media platform, as it, too, continues to tank on the stock exchange in parallel with Trump’s polls.
