If you mosy over to Truth Social right now you will see Donald Trump crowing for all he’s worth about the wonderful boffo victories in the two Florida races. In all-caps he declares WON BIG!!! No, they did not. Jimmy Patronis and Randy Fine won, yes. But big? No way. They were in two deep red districts in a deep red state. They were expected to win by 30% or more. Did they? No. They won by about 9%, according to the latest figures available. That figure may change by Wednesday morning.
Trump also carries on like it was some miracle that the voter I.D. amendment passed in Wisconsin. It’s not that big of a deal. Wisconsin has required voter I.D. for some time. All that happened tonight is that the measure is to be enshrined in the state constitution.
And what does Trump say about Susan Crawford not only beating her opponent Knee Pad Brad Schimel, but more importantly Elon Musk? Crickets. Not one word. Not one syllable. It’s like it didn’t happen. Why is that? Because this is Disaster Night and Trump is trying to figure out how to cope with this.
What is truly comical is that in one of his posts about the Florida House seats he ringingly declares: THE TRUMP ENDORSEMENT, AS ALWAYS, PROVED FAR GREATER THAN THE DEMOCRATS FORCES OF EVIL. Um….Donald? Didn’t Knee Pad Brad have your endorsement, too? What happened there, huh? And you’ll love this. This is comical.

What happened in this election is that it turns out the Musk brand is toxic. Wisconsin-ite Charlie Sykes has cut a “very personal message to Elon” which I’m sure you will enjoy.
Other pundits are chiming in as well. All signs suggest that Musk was a drag, rather than a boost, to the candidate he invested so much personal and financial capital into.
Musk spent his money not just on advertising, but by paying voters in what looks awfully like a bribe. Musk promised to pay people $100 to sign his petition against what he called activist judges (i.e. judges he disagrees with), or $50 to show pictures of his preferred candidates at voting locations.
He entered those who registered to vote in a sweepstakes for $1 million prizes “in appreciation for you taking the time to vote.” He had used such tactics before the 2024 election in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania. But the winners of Musk’s sweepstakes did not appear to be random. In the 2024 election, Musk lawyers admitted to a judge that winners were picked based on their ability to convey political messages. In the Wisconsin election, one winner was the head of the Wisconsin College Republicans. In other words, this is a scam not just on democracy, but on participants.
Like I said a few days ago, let us see if those two million dollar checks clear the bank, since the attorney general of Wisconsin is investigating whether this lotto was legal or not.
Musk: Losing this judge race has good chance of causing Republicans to lose control of the house. You lose control of the house, there will be nonstop impeachment hearings and subpoenas
I guess that’s how it’s going to be, Elon. Make no mistake, this is an ominous warning for the Republicans. Trump can’t deal with it at all right now, because there’s no way to spin it — unless he resorts to the tried and true “rigged” election and there’s some reason Trump didn’t trot that one out. Yet.
Maybe he will. In fact, I’m wishing that he would, because it’s just going to make him look weak and stupid. And maybe Susie Wiles or Oddjob or somebody has gotten through to him and convinced him not to take that course.
One thing is dead certain: This is not the backdrop that Trump would have wished for on the eve of his Liberation Day dog and pony show. Had Musk won that would have been a great lead in for how magnificent DOGE is. Had the two House seats been a 50 point blow out, that would have also been a terrific endorsement. Nothing like that happened. Trump/Musk won nothing tonight. They hung onto two House seats, as expected, but with a margin of victory much lower than was anticipated or which would have happened in any election where Musk did not interject himself.
The shellacking in Wisconsin has changed the dynamic between Trump and Musk. How that will manifest in coming weeks and months we do not know. DOGE got drubbed. This is a tremendous set back for Musk and most of all for his cynical world view that money can buy everything. Evidently it can’t buy two things, love and this Wisconsin judgeship.

What’s really amazing in that judge’s race in Wisconsin is that Schimel has now lost all support he ever had from Drumpf. Why, you may ask? Because he not only conceded the race, he had the audacity to say that “you gotta accept the results.” As we all know, Drumpf only accepts results that he likes or that give him the win; otherwise, it’s whine, whine, whine about the election being “stollen.”
Also, I have to wonder if the Muskrat–or whoever was responsible for posting that obnoxious tweet–has ever actually been to a real polling place? In Alabama, at least, it is ILLEGAL to do ANY political campaigning (that includes having or displaying photos of candidates) within 50 feet or so of a polling place and that includes the outdoors so, people in line outside the polling place.
So, if the Muskrat made this kind of offer to Alabama voters, a voter who was caught doing that could be removed from the polling location if they didn’t put away the candidate’s photo (and they could even be barred from voting)
I’d be incredibly surprised–even shocked–to find out that Alabama has a law regarding campaigning outside polling places that’s more stringent than Wisconsin. (Alabama does allow people campaigning to hand out literature and voter’s guides as long as no candidate’s picture appears on any of it.)
Given his track record…you couldn’t get the truth out of Trump even if you stuck a hot poker up his ass. His entire life is a lie. Add in he’s a phucking moron who couldn’t pass a 3rd grade test, and you have a perfect stooge for musk/putin/ Xi/ the Saudis…etc. I’m always amazed anyone believes a goddamn word that spews out of his cakehole.
Reports are he’s showing musk the exit door.
