*Sigh* Folks, you literally can’t make this shit up. For more than a week now, the Norfolk Southern derailment outside of East Palestine, Ohio has captured all the oxygen in domestic politics. The Crisis has led to Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg being called on the carpet by Democrats for answers.
This is no joke. The plans for a controlled burn are running into problems, parts of the city have been evacuated by residents, the EPA showed up to promise to monitor and find answers, and they’re getting conflicting information as to whether or not the water is safe to drink, what with all the dead fish floating around and such. These people are hurting.
But, as I learned about 45 years ago or so, if there are people in pain or distress, there are political jackals and hyenas ready to swoop in and claw them some more for their own personal and political gain. On Friday, Dipshit Donnie Jr., this generations Son of Sham, proudly took to Twitter to announce;

Are you fucking kidding me?! If he actually shows up, what is he going to do, hawk Trump branded golf shirts to them? Trump is no longer President, nor does he hold any official government position. The local officials are not going to set up some kind of kind of official security cordon around him, they’re busy with actual work. And Traitor Tot isn’t going to be getting official briefings from local, state, or federal officials. He’ll likely be kept outside the cordoned off area, doing what Trump does best, stomping around and offending people.
But apparently this wayward moron’s proclamation tickled Diaper Donnie sr. pink. For the record here. It was Ohio Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown who asked for FEMA assistance, even though GOP Governor Mike DeWine thought it was unneeded. Brown is up for reelection, DeWine isn’t. Brown is no moron. The administration announced that FEMA relief was being made available to the people of East Palestine. Having had an aunt and uncle in the Chicago suburbs who lost a home to a tornado, I know first hand, there is no such thing as too much help!
But that was all it took for El Pendejo Presidente to get the ball rolling. On Saturday, FrankenTrump took to his favorite platform, Bullshit Social to fatuously announce;
Biden and FEMA said that they would not be sending aid to East Palestine. As soon as I announced that I’m going, he announced a team will go. Hopefully he will also be there. This is good news because we got them to “move”.” The people of East Palestine need help. I’ll see you on Wednesday!
I can only hope that you, dear readers, along with any other right thinking individual who has heard this is somewhat ore than Righteously pissed! These people are at their wits end. They don’t even know if they’re going to have safe homes to go home to, with clean air and water, and these soulless ghouls are using them as pawns for a political propaganda effort. Mark my words, the fuckers will raise money off of it.
Well have to wait and see whether or not The Cheeto Prophets trip comes off. After all, Ohio GOP Governor Mike DeWine is no Trump fan, and he may refuse to allow him entry to the affected area. But if he does manage to make the trip, there is one thing I truly fear. Look for Hair Twitler to show up with two large cardboard boxes, open them, and start chucking rolls of paper towels around. What the hell. It worked in Puerto Rico, right?
The feds can’t send in FEMA until the state asks. Most states ask early on.

Only after the governor refused. DeWine even said Biden called and offered federal help, and he told him he didn’t need federal assistance, Ohio could handle it.
I can see Trump providing “assistance” – like he did in Puerto Rico. The only question is if the cheap bastard shells out a few bucks for (tissue thin) rolls of paper towels in a wrapper with a big gold T on one side, and MAGA on the other!
Another example of the GOP lying about a horrible situation that they created to deflect and place blame on Dems. They’re using their constituents’ fear and anger to score points. DeWine decides, without guidance of the experts at the EPA, to dump and burn toxic chemicals in order to clear the tracks so more trains carrying who knows what can keep moving. But hey, let’s blame it on the current administration. Is there an ounce of honesty in any of them?
Not to overlook the fact that Trump was the one who rescinded the requirement for improved braking on trains.
