Trumpty rolled the dice by filing his lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal in south Florida. He lost. A judge all too familiar with his bullsh*t antics will preside and that means Trumpty’s attempt to extort money from the WSJ is dead in the water.
Donald Trump will be seen by history as one of the luckiest people to have ever lived. Again and again he’s escaped justice, and usually in civil matters consequences for his misdeeds. Trumpty is mad that the Wall Street Journal isn’t intimidated by his bullying. Mad enough to sue them. Did he file in New York where the WSJ is located, or in DC where he’s currently squatting (again) in the WH? Nope, he filed in south Florida hoping that once again he’d wind up with judge Aileen “Loose” Cannon to do what his typically incompetent lawyers can’t – help him win an otherwise unwinnable case.
Alas, as this article from Raw Story tells us Cannon won’t be presiding. Instead it will be judge Darrin Gayles who as I said knows more than he cares to about Trump’s attempts to misuse the legal system. This case will be done by the book and let’s face a brutal (for Trump) fact. When a judge runs the case impartially and according to the law and established court procedure Trump is f**ked. And that’s what will happen here:
Gayles was appointed to the bench in southern Florida in 2013 by former President Barack Obama. He previously presided over a lawsuit Trump filed against his former lawyer, Michael Cohen. Trump sought to collect $500 million from Cohen over claims that Cohen violated his attorney-client privilege. After six months, Trump abandoned the lawsuit.
“Who that judge is tends to suggest that karma is alive and well,” Kirschner said.
The Kirschner cited above is legal pundit Glenn Kirschner and he knows his stuff. Every time I’ve seen him on TV he’s shown he knows his material he’s being asked to comment on so when he talks about this on his podcast I think we can take what he says to the bank. As far as Kirschner is concerned it seems to be a matter of time before Trumpty gives up. The way I see it either Trumpty’s lawyers he finds to press his case will quit because he’s not paying them, or the judge will make it so clear that Trumpian bullsh*t doesn’t meet the rules of evidence and the case is doomed that he gives up. Although he’s more polite and professional, that’s essentially what Kirschner is telling us:
Judge Gayles has seen the Trump show before, in court, up close and personal,” Kirschner added. “Bring a frivolous lawsuit, and then right before you are going to be deposed, right when you are going to have to answer questions under oath, when you are going to have to put up or shut up, you give up.”
The amusing part is that we’re talking about Trump who won’t want to let go. He HATES losing. Yet he really, REALLY wants this Epstein stuff to go away and never be mentioned in the news again. Every time a motion is filed in this case (before Trump, months from now gives up) it will be freaking news! In any case I thought learning about this might brighten your evening a bit.

Zoomers, if you can spare some change to keep the Little Political Blog That Could trekking through cyberspace, we appreciate it. This has been a dim and grim year compared to others before it. All we’re trying to do is survive until things get better. Thank you. Ursula
