Mercy! He will not let it go. He feels he deserves this for the people who have been “wronged”. They weren’t wronged. They were held to account for their actions. Actions that desecrated the Capitol, hurt and killed police officers, but there’s no fund for them, even though they were wronged by the J6ers. Trump wants to pay them off with millions, and then keep the rest for himself because he was “wronged”. Bullsht!!! I, no *we* call bullsht and we have all along. President Donald Trump erupted Friday in a lengthy 253-word rant over his stalled “anti-weaponization fund,” his taxpayer-funded $1.7 billion fund dedicated to awarding payouts to Jan. 6 Capitol riot participants who he claimed had been “hunted down like dogs.” Trump singled out Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), who has vowed to withhold his support for Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche’s confirmation until the fund was eliminated, much to the frustration of Trump.
Hunted down like dogs, my arse. We didn’t see Krispi Gnome out there. *They* were hunting. They were hunting Congress. They were hunting Mike Pence. (Don’t forget that they built a scaffold with a hangman’s noose on it. Remember that picture looking up towards the Capitol?) They were hunting anyone not a protester. They deserve *nothing*. And a number of them are already back in jail! But Trump apparently truly thinks they were “patriots” because that’s never fallen out of his vocabulary. Five and a half, ish, years later, and he can’t let go. But there are those in the Senate who know exactly what Trump is trying to do, and they will block him as much as they can. It’s a pity those spines didn’t show up when they were in Congress, before the midterms were approaching and they had nothing to lose.
“John Cornyn never had a problem with the so called ‘Fund,’ which will not benefit me, but rather the great American Patriots who were hunted down like dogs,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, “and whose lives were unfairly and illegally destroyed by the Crooked Joe Biden Administration, until after I decided to Endorse and Support his Republican Primary opponent in Texas, who easily won the Nomination for the United States Senate.” Trump followed up this boast with more complaining.
*Yawn* Yes, yes, Donnie, we know you want that money, and we know you say bullsht when you say “will not benefit me”. We know him. We know how he grifts. Some of that money would go to him, who most assuredly does not deserve any of it. Neither does it belong to the “Patriots” he keeps going on about. It belongs to the taxpayers, because we most certainly do not want to fund rioters. We saw that day. We saw people get hurt. And we saw all sorts of video from inside that made it worse. We don’t actually know for certain what Cornyn thinks about the fund, because Donnie is good at putting words in other people’s mouths. The people of Texas are going to be really sorry if (when?) they elect Paxton. There will be all sorts of stories coming out practically from Day 1. He’s going to get up there on the hill and just skate. He won’t try to do *anything*. But we digress.
“Perhaps there has never been a group of people treated so badly in our Nation’s history,” he wrote. “They are suffering still, many ruined, and I felt that they should be given compensation for what has been done to them. I gave up any payments for myself, which would have been substantial, including for the illegal and unprecedented raid on Mar-a-Lago, my home in Florida, even though many legal experts, and others, including John Cornyn, said it was a shocking and disgusting display of ‘weaponization’ against me.”
Trump wrapped up his tantrum with a complaint that was also a boast. “Such an event has never happened before, and hopefully will never happen again!” he wrote. “I will always feel that these victims of government abuse should be paid back for what they were forced to endure; their lives have been ruined!”
Gee, calling in the FBI was weaponization because he hadn’t responded to the, I believe, National Archives? All the top secret information in a bathroom that he wasn’t supposed to have in the first place? Yep, Donnie has been “weaponized”. What a bunch of hooey. He knew damn well what he had done. There was movement of boxes he had. If he’d done what he was supposed to, they wouldn’t have had to raid Mar-A-Slobo, now, would they? “Should be paid back for what they had to endure?” Let them endure awhile longer, even though it’s too late, but still. We sure as hell hope it never happens again and that after Trump, we have at least decent presidents again, but we have a lot to recover from. We have too much to recover from.

What a sulking, morose, entitled and testy little pissant! Wonder if he backs-one-out into his daiper when he has these unhinged eruptions.
Ha, we can guess as to that answer which is “yes”. He gets more ridiculous and whiny and darnit, I can’t seem to spell the next descriptive word so I’ll stop here.
I did a little Google search and, the number of people arrested for Jan 6-related involvement stands at under 1600. And we’re supposed to believe all these people merit “reparations” to the tune of $1.8 billion? (I used “reparations” deliberately because Drumpf and his associates will foam at the mouth when it comes to “reparations” paid to African-Americans for the horrors of slavery. But I digress . . . .) That comes to (if we’re to believe Drumpf’s claim that he won’t benefit from the fund but we all know the man lies even more easily and readily than he breathes) $1,125,000 per insurrectionist. (If the money only goes to the ~1500 people he pardoned, that total bumps up to $1.2 million each.) There is NO way that any of them deserves even a fraction of those dollar amounts. Money does often get paid to people who were WRONGLY convicted of crimes as well as those who were the VICTIMS of crimes (like one certain E Jean Carroll) but there’s not a single one of those DOMESTIC TERRORISTS who suffered a wrongful conviction much less being a victim of a criminal action (unlike the Capitol Police who were assaulted by those DOMESTIC TERRORISTS–who were incredibly privileged by their whiteness because we all know that a similar group of black- or brown-skinned people would’ve been shot and every single police officer who shot a single rioter would’ve faced an investigation to determine whether the shooting was or was not justified). Drumpf, as we all know, has been so eager to provoke people protesting his fascist regime so that “his” troops can shoot them (and, don’t forget, Drumpf himself suggested that he could kill someone in Times Square and not face any consequences–even before his fat stanky behind befouled the White House the first time).
Holy cow. That’s quite a chunk of change.
I’m still pissed about the treatment of the police officers after this INSURRECTION. They fought for a long time to get the plaque dedicated to them placed in the Capitol (thanks, MAGA Moses Mikey Johnson).
It was 5th Avenue, not Times Square, although almost no one would notice if it was in Times Square (having lived on the edge on NYC for a number of years).
