This is just embarrassing. Y’all, tRump is making a fool of himself and yes, the saga continues. He has people in the Oval Office with him for the orders he’s signing and HE CAN’T REMEMBER WHAT THEY ARE. Dementia, anyone? Although remember, he has fewer brain cells than an orange cat. I wish certain people in my family could see this.
Donald Trump signed executive orders on Friday, but one key moment suggested the president had no idea what was in the papers he was about to sign.
Trump was seated in the Oval Office, preparing to sign the orders impacting the nuclear energy industry, when he invited business leaders in attendance to say a few words.
The first person to speak was Joseph Dominquez, the president and CEO of Constellation. Dominquez brought up how the industry has faced regulatory delays. He complained they are spending too much time on permitting.
That’s when Trump turned in his seat and asked Dominquez a question about what was in his executive order. “Are we doing something about the regulatory in here?” Trump asked, nodding to the executive order sitting on the desk in front of him.
Several business leaders standing around him were quick to chime in that his order did address the regulations, while Interior Secretary Doug Burgum also responded, “You are, sir.”
Oyyyyyy. It’s one thing to ask off camera, but this was in front of (essentially) the *world*. Anyone who is still our ally has to be looking at themselves and thinking, “Why are we still attached to this idiot?” And others are thinking, “Wow, good thing we left, and just not because of tariffs!” This makes me want to bang my head on my desk! And, because it’s El Presidente Imbécil, it gets better!
However, it was a telling moment that suggested the president had not read the order on Friday in advance, prompting the business executive at the White House to quickly step in and explain.
Dominquez addressed the reporters and cameras directly while acknowledging the order targets regulation.
“That issue I just described will be addressed in this EO, and many other issues that we don’t have time with the president to cover,” Dominquez said, gesturing to the order on the desk.
Trump followed up to ask if he would say they’ve “contemplated just about everything, right?”
Dominquez went on to praise the president’s creation of a National Energy Dominance Council, which was included in an executive order signed in February.
Yep, I *really* want to bang my head on my desk. Is this pitiful, or what? A *business executive* has to step in and tell people about the EO. Lawd have mercy! If it’s this bad now, when we aren’t even halfway through the first year, what’s it going to be for the rest of his term? I’m thinking descending into hell would be a good description, but that’s just me. Does seem kind of appropriate, though. We’re already on the first level.
How on earth can he be signing things he doesn’t know about? I know he’s done about half a ton of them, but sheesh!!! I would guess even JD Vance (ewwww) would be able to remember what he’s doing if there are only four! If the Speaker were next in line, I’m not so sure. He tends to glom onto something and stay there. Yikes. Horrible thought. Mike Johnson running the country. Gak! Okay, one last nausea-inducing quote, and I’ll close.
Later in the event, White House Staff Secretary Will Scharf went through and explained each of the orders to Trump as he went through and signed them, just as he has done in other EO signing ceremonies.
I can’t even. It’s sad. He only had 4 Executive Orders to sign, and he couldn’t remember any of them. I could kinda understand on Inauguration Day because he did about a ton. But now? Erm, no. I would get a notebook and write down all the ridiculousness, but I’d probably need a new one before his first year is done. The humor value of this, however, is very, very high. But Biden’s speeches are all still there because he never had anything to hide – despite the heavily promoted false ‘Sleepy Joe’ meme.
Trump has to hide from the truth, Biden just has to counter lies.
Agreed, yes, it shows more and more every day. How about the Truth Social rant (which, fortunately, people now know they need to save anything he does), right before he went to Arlington? The stupid (and the contradiction), it burns, precioussssssss…
Just imagine if this had happened to President Biden: It would’ve been THE story for the next week. Just some more “proof” that Biden was “losing it” and “not competent.”
But it happens to Drumpf and it’s just glossed over and no cause for concern.
Yeah, the disconnect between Biden and tRump (and Democrats and Republicans) gets more obvious every day. For one thing, Biden did GOOD things. The Cheeto Prophet doesn’t know how.
