Donald Trump calls the press the “enemy of the people” because the media is there to record his downfall. Of all the media, Trump hates the Lincoln Project with particularity. He declared war on the team of political strategists, ad makers and lawyers right out of the gate when they posted Mourning In America, a riff on Reagan’s Morning In America. Trump cursed the members of Lincoln Project on the tarmac, leaving Washington, D.C. He called them the “Loser’s Project.” They love you too, Donald. They’ve been following the Trump Organization trial and will continue, no doubt, to kick out more of these psy ops analyeses.

The trial will feature testimony from many of the denizens of Trump World, including family members, former lawyers, and his financial consigliere Allen Weisselberg. For Trump it probably felt like an episode of “This Is Your Fraudulent Life.”
Because it is a civil trial, Trump doesn’t need to worry about criminal convictions or jail time. But the real threat is that it could unravel his carefully crafted image as a savvy and successful businessman. That image has survived his long and extraordinary strong of failures, frauds, and busts.

And, Wilson elaborates, that was the message that the GOP wanted to convey in 2015, which is why they’re up the creek now.
Lincoln Project will go on attacking its audience of one, and that audience, Trump, will go on melting down on social media. The exposure of the Trump Organization for the fraud it is, is straight out of the Wizard of Oz. Big sound and commotion, but when you get down to it, a small man is behind a curtain creating an illusion so that he can control people.
His punishment is now in vogue, punch out his financial dreamscape, make him pay dearly …
He will be powerless to scam more funds, have to sell off his landscaped golf courses for less than their true estimated values, since EVERYONE, NOW knows how badly he has grifted people and made outrageous claims of value to his properties … most of his hotels, towers and other places suffer from poor upkeep, because he refuses to believe he should actually pay workers a decent wage, using undocumented workers for less than acceptable base rates …
Yep, this will unwind Trump where it hurts the most, begging for apples on the street level has not yet happened, BUT who knows, his criminal statements may make a sudden departure from the court room to jail necessary, and who’s shoulder will he be sobbing on?

His very last Threatening statements SHOULD throw him in protective custody, not a fun place for him to be, and his silence will be deafening to him AND the rest of us, not to mention him in bright orange garb in court, will have to remind him to just say NOTHING or ELSE …
One always speculates here, DK, and other sites, how/why magats continue to support former guy despite the mounting piles of crimes he has committed. It is simpler than one might think: he allows them to feel good about being racists, bigots, misogynists, any and every foul thing these people give voice to. Having someone so visible and in high office lets them rationalize their own ignorant behavior. Having someone so stupid in such a visible high office as the presidency allows them to rationalize their own stupidity.
Will it matter if he is brought down to the same economic level as your average magat? Hard to say really. Kind of depends on who finances his campaign, if anyone finances it. If your average magat continues to send him money, we’re still saddled with the ass.
