The manipulation of information in Trump world is truly something that Ingsoc, the ruling party in Orwell’s “1984” would be proud of if not downright envious of. If you check out Donald Trump’s posts, he speaks of a major victory today, a “humiliating ruling” for AG James and Judge Engoron. And what might that be? Trump’s version is this.
Whut? Now if you go look for what actually happened in court today, this is what you’ll find. CNN:
A New York appeals court judge on Friday rejected Donald Trump’s attempt to stop the ongoing $250 million civil fraud trial, but temporarily halted the process of breaking up the former president’s businesses.
Associate Justice Peter Moulton issued the ruling after a brief hearing Friday afternoon. It leaves Trump’s empire untouched for at least another month and perhaps offers the former president and his family a glimmer of hope.
Mostly this offers residents of Trump Tower, who are captives in a sense, of owning condos that they cannot sell, a glimmer of hope. Maybe they’ll have a chance to get out, albeit losing money by doing so, but at least having a little time to put something together.
Judge Engoron has originally ordered Trump to propose potential receivers by October 26, which would begin the process of dissolution. Now that date is vacated and will be revisited on or about November 6. This is not a huge victory, and certainly not anything that would humiliate any judge or attorney general, but of course that’s how it’s got to be presented, right? We need to keep that MAGA small donations spigot in the on position, at all costs, and this should do it.
And nothing was said about the fact that Trump’s appeal was for the purpose of delaying the trial and now that’s not happening.
The New York attorney general’s office opposed the request to delay the trial, saying Trump and the other defendants are attempting “to sow chaos by disrupting an ongoing trial that has now been going for a week. Yet defendants fail to point to any purported irreparable harm from proceeding with a trial that has already begun.”
The attorney general’s office also criticized Trump’s team for waiting days into trial testimony to file the stay request.
“And tellingly, they waited until after Mr. Trump decided to stop attending the trial,” the letter says. Trump attended the first three days of the trial and has returned to Florida.
The response also says a delay would be disruptive to the court and its witnesses, creating a “cascade of delays in not only this case but also other litigation involving Mr. Trump.”
“If the trial here is delayed at all, there is a significant risk that defendants will request further delays of trial based on the deadlines in these other cases. Indeed, defendants already appear to be attempting to play one court against the other,” the motion reads.
And in the MAGA victory party taking place on Truth Social and Trump’s X account, you won’t find this.
Separately, Trump’s attorneys agreed to drop a lawsuit they filed against Engoron and the New York attorney general.
Trump attorneys and his co-defendants notified the appellate court that they’ve agreed with James’ office to discontinue the suit.
MAGA would never believe that. They only know their version of Trump, the man with the Galaxy Quest motto, “Never give up, never surrender.” They don’t want to know about not only these suits, but the one that Trump initiated against Michael Cohen, being abandoned, within 24 hours of each other.

it ends “given their day in court.” It’s an oversimplification and misstatement of what Christopher Kise, one of Trump’s lawyers said.
The dissolution of the entities would cause irreparable harm to the businesses and upwards of 1,000 employees, Trump attorney Christopher Kise argued in court.
And it’s still going to happen. The stay is for one month, possibly more, but in no way has the dissolution of the companies been “stopped” and everything is the way it was before.

I guess she was watching a different trial from the one we caught glimpses of, because that defendant in that case was not having a “great” week.
You get the gist of it, though. Spin baby spin, is the name of this game, because that’s the only way that MAGA can be happy and a happy cult is a cult that opens its wallets.
Is Fat Donnie choosing female attorneys based on how they look? Because he sure isn’t making his selection based on their expertise.
