Once again Trump’s issues with the free press cause him to have an epic meltdown on social media. The question now becomes, will CNN fire Natasha Bertrand for doing her job, in order to appease the madman in the White House? And what kind of a message does that send to media outlets and reporters everywhere? The dispute is that Trump insists that he “obliterated” (his favorite new word) Iran’s nuclear capabilities, when there is no evidence to support that contention.
So will her corporate overlords show her the door? Because if so, then we can kiss the free press goodbye formally.
Let’s wait for the other shoe to drop and see if CNN fires Natasha Bertrand. And as we speak, conversations are being had about CBS News paying Trump a potential $20 million package to settle Trump’s “fake news” lawsuit which alleges a re-edited cut of Kamala Harris. The package would include a donation, legal fees and a “public service announcement on Paramount-owned networks to fight antisemitism,” the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday. The settlement includes a $17 million donation to Trump’s presidential foundation or museum, according to the report.
I think the idea that Trump is going to have a “presidential foundation” or “museum” like other presidents is hysterically funny. He’s not a normal president, he’s a fascist. However, we’re used to having him normalized, this is just one more step. He’s going to get rewarded, again, and bigly, for his own misbehavior, not that of a major network.
On these facts, I’d say it’s even money that CNN will do something stupid. By the by, Natasha Bertrand holds degrees from Vassar and the London School of Economics. She wasn’t hired to be eye candy, she has a brain. And frankly, I find her attractive, but then I’m not surrounded by people with Botox, plastic surgery and heavy makeup like Trump is in Palm Beach. Just another woman hating crack from the woman hater in the White House.
Hopefully, if she is fired by CNN, she will be scooped up by another network.
