This picture speaks a thousand words. The reactions to this picture are priceless. The part I really like, though, is the video below which shows Trump leaving the courthouse, head deeply bent. I mean, dejected, staring at the floor, shoulders collapsed, level of bent. Dr. Jack Brown, who is an expert in body language and non verbal communication analyzes it all. But first, here’s what Twitter said to Donald, by way of a send off to the House Of Many Doors.
(Verse 1)
In a world of chaos and confusion,
The verdict came down, the jury in collusion,
Trump found guilty, the MAGA crowd in tears,
Their leader's fears, in reality, no more cheers.(Chorus)
MAGA tears, jail his fears,
The walls are closing in, no one to cheer,
A sad day for…— Chris Swart (@BwanaChris) May 30, 2024
I hope some wit on Twitter actually sets this to music and records it.
2 of 14/Â Today, as the Jury was about to begin their deliberation, Donald Trump and his entourage left the courthouse. What follows is a body language analysis of the brief video included above.

4 of 14/Â In this context, Trump's lack of eye contact is highly significant for Trump feeling guilty (crucially, Trump is feeling legal-culpability guilt, NOT shame-guilt and NOT remorse-guilt).

6 of 14/Â The motion of Trump's arm-hand is also quicker on the out-stroke (abduction), and slower on the in-stroke (adduction) (as if he's pounding a wall). His fist never rises above the height of his ear.

8 of 14/ Note also, Trump is using only his left hand with this pseudo fist-pump … but Trump's right-hand dominant. If he had true conviction of his claimed beliefs of power, solidarity, or defiance – Trump would use his dominant hand, but that's not what he's feeling.
— DrJackBrown 🌊 (@DrGJackBrown) May 30, 2024
10 of 14/ It's crucial to contrast that behavior which is driven by a greater conscious component (his pseudo fist-pump) with those that have almost no conscious component (Trump's head and shoulder drooping).

12 of 14/ SUMMARY: Upon exiting the courtroom today, at the commencement of the Jury's deliberation, Donald Trump could not even look at the camera or the press pool. He exhibited body language indicative of low energy, low confidence, and significant culpability-guilt.

This is a good commentary by Dr. Brown. The clip is a blur but the still shot is priceless. Trump knows he’s cornered in a way that he’s never been cornered before. Right after this happened yesterday was when Trump’s cavalry began to go into high gear with all the Fox News appearances on how “rigged” the trial is, how Justice Merchan was not randomly assigned the cases but it’s all part of a Deep State plot. And that came on the heels of Elise Stefanik filing an ethics complaint alleging the same thing, that Merchan came by the cases in his caseload by less than honest means.
Trump world is reeling and they, and us, wait for the hammer to come down, one way or another. Conviction or mistrial. Acquittal is not seen as being on the table but anything is possible, and it ain’t over until it’s over.

How will he cope with the humiliation of being in the system now as a convicted felon? He’s got the pre-sentencing hinterview, and probing questions of mental and physical health and fitness to cope with. And he really has to be careful who he consorts with, he knows so many felons.
He’s in the rare position of not being in control to cope with too.
Good.
Don Don’s cast has been readied for the final pouring. It’ll cast a legally convicted, penalised and beaten criminal. He’s triggered a non-reversible process that’s been set in train all due to his own stupidity and arrogance. It’s an elephant he’ll never devour because it’s his due to his evil, selfish and heartless shadow boxing. He forgot there’s a system, other than his delusional perspectives, that come with legal consequences. He’s now living that hell – his hell – where he’s discovered it’s lonely and isolated, but where all his demons and devils concurrently reside. Well done Don Don. Excellent article, Joseph.
He already knew he was guilty. He just hoped he would bluster his way through it as he has all his life.
The problem is, Trump wasn’t convicted by Judge Merchan.
He was convicted by a jury of his peers (I would contend betters) based on evidence presented and testimony given. The judge just kept things moving and orderly.
