You’d think municipalities would have long ago learned their lesson. Trump doesn’t pay! If a town or venue doesn’t get their money upfront, well maybe after he releases his health care plan that will be “Better than Obamacare. The biggest, best most beautiful health care plan in the world” they’ll get (maybe) some repayment. Not ALL of what he owes them of course. Some venues and communities had it sink in, and tell Team Trump either pay in advance or go somewhere else.
And some continue to be suckers.
Raw Story has published an article about how despite years of stories naming specific places Mayors and/or Police Chiefs can call for verification that Trump sticks them with the tab for all the money they shell out to host his events places keep falling for the scam. Even though we know he never gets the crowd sizes from his “glory days” in 2016, that he makes up how many showed up thousands often to. Even if only two to five thousand actually show up the sites have to have enough people on hand to provide security/crowd & traffic control, emergency services and of course sanitation workers to clean up the mess the MAGA leave in their wake. It can easily run upwards of ten thousand bucks and sometimes double (or more) that. Alas, being who he is Trump isn’t about to turn around and pay any invoice sent to him. From the article:

It truly is amazing that places still trust the tens of thousands they shell out for LE, fire & rescue and cleanup costs they expend will be covered by the Trump campaign. So again you have to ask just how stupid ARE these people? Worse, when they realize they’ve spent all that money what services will suffer or be cut because they let Trump play them for suckers. Now, I get that it takes some guts to tell Trump’s advance people including the Secret Service “show me the money and then we’ll talk. And no space rental agreement or town/county permit for a special event will be issued unless payment is received 48 hours in advance. Here’s the thing. It’s not like Trump himself will get told some town named Gooberville made such demands. His advance people will just keep looking for some sucker somewhere. If they can’t find one they can figure out a way to cover the costs upfront without Trump finding out and blowing a gasket.
But in the meantime the grift goes on. Trump, via his people say “trust me” and damn if there aren’t those out there stupid enough to do so. Some things never change including Trump taking advantage of the old saying “There’s a sucker born every minute.” If I were the DNC I’d have some staffer make a note of every Trump event and follow up a month later to see whether the places where each one was held got reimbursed for all those costs they racked up to host him. It should be a pretty impressive amount come convention time and make for a great moment for Dark Brandon to take over for Biden during his acceptance speech! Not to mention rhetorically slapping Trump in the face with it during the debates. Just a thought…

I’ll bet that even when he’s in prison he’ll try charging for interviews.
You know, maybe some non-Trump fans in those cities and towns should consider suing their cities and/or whatever Trump-supporting politician(s) approved the deal for misusing taxpayer money when they knew–or, at the very least, had reasonable suspicion–that the money would not be reimbursed.
Just one or two of these such suits (fiscal irresponsibility and fiscal mismanagement are not exactly the kind of things that local politicians find amenable to their re-election prospects–in some cases, they’re not amenable to the politicians’ continued service) might serve as public reminders to other cities that might consider hosting a Trump “event” of what’s liable to happen to them.

I used to know a member of the secret service who guarded Clinton. Can’t speak for those under king cheeto…but the guy I played golf with was a straight and patriotic guy with a sense of humor. After all he played golf with this vermin.
I know TRUMP doesn’t pay, but some of those PACs might. I’ve often wondered if someone on Trumps team takes the $ that’s supposed to go to the town and either splits it with Trump or embezzles it outright. There’s isn’t a NON GRIFTER on team Trump. That’s why MAGAts love him. They are ALL whining, hypocritical, racist, sexist tax cheats just like Trump.
