We may be looking at WWIII. Vladimir Putin rattling nuclear sabers in the Kremlin with respect to Ukraine is bad enough. But now it’s learned that Iran sped up their nuclear development when El Mango Moron was in the White House and got out of the Iran deal, as was predicted would happen.
Now we’re waiting for the other shoe to drop on that side of the world and the White House has admitted it’s worried. Newsweek:
“What Secretary [of State Antony] Blinken said during his testimony this morning was that [Iran’s] breakout period is down from about a year—which is what we knew it was during the deal—to just a few weeks or less,” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters at a Tuesday press briefing.
“It definitely worries us,” she said.
On Tuesday, Blinken testified that Iran could now acquire a nuclear weapon in a “matter of weeks,” bumping up the previously projected timeline. […]
“Under the Iran nuclear deal, Iran’s nuclear program was tightly constrained and monitored by international inspectors,” she said.
She continued: “Since the Trump administration seized U.S. participation in the deal, Iran has rapidly accelerated its nuclear program and reduced cooperation with international inspectors in non-performance of Iran nuclear deal commitments.”
Putin and the rest of them were looking for a bloodless coup, and were hoping for Trump to be reelected. Trump would have withdrawn from NATO and done even more damage than he did in his first term and then Putin would have moved not only on Ukraine, but a lot more of Europe, with NATO crippled.
Iran has been making hay while the sun shines, due to Trump’s stupidity, and so now we have two powder kegs on that side of the world.
Oh, and let’s not forget: Jared Kushner was over there in 2017 with Michael Flynn and Steve Bannon selling nuclear start up kits to the Saudis. If Trump had gotten reelected, I think you could put MBS in the nuclear column. Maybe bin Salman could name his first two nukes Fat Orange Man and Little Jared.
A lot of damage was done in the Trump era, most emphatically in the area of foreign policy. We are living in strange times right now. Trump was a destabilizing effect like we’ve never seen and now we’re seeing where the chips fell and who knows what’s next?
So Iran can have a nuclear weapon. The technology is nearly 80 years old. That genie left the bottle long ago. South Africa and Israel both developed nuclear weapons. Pakistan and India also and of course trumps bud kim has a few in North Korea. Just about any more or less technologically developed nation can develop nuclear weapons, that is why diplomacy is so important, something Obama understood and trump did not. Obama had a working treaty, trump tore it up.
Of course the biggest threat to Israel is Iran. So it mystifies me that bibi cozied up to trump so much. Of course maybe the new saudi kits are meant to take out arch enemy Iran. I was sure kushner was going to solve all these issues. but who am I to be critical.
