Trump loves the razzle dazzle of a parade. He lives for packed rallies and adulation. He’s an empty shell of a man that must fill himself up with attention from others. That’s the difference between North Korea and here. We have a choice. For now. We can choose to show up and idolize a dictator or we can choose to stay home from the dictator’s festivities and show up en masse in protests. That is democracy.
The weekend was a flop. Trump is now in the Canadian rockies for the G7 summit and it remains to be seen how he’ll botch that up.
