Ahead of the Presidential debate next Thursday, N.Y. Slimes Columnist Maggie Haberman seems intent on helping her favorite Donald lower expectations for his performance by making the rounds on televised media saying that, contrary to the way Trump and his allies in the right-wing have portrayed President Biden as an incompetent, mumbling, doddering near invalid, the old man might still have a lot of game left in him and is not to be underestimated. They are gonna push this idea for a couple of days, folks, at one point yesterday Trump has even managed to insert these two quite different characterizations into one rather dizzying statement that makes it clear he doesn’t quite know if he’ll be up against “Sleepy Joe” or The Dark One when they lock horns:
“When they face off June 27, Trump expects the incumbent from working-class Scranton to be on his game — and playing to win.
“I was told that this was where he and his team were heading as they went into the debate. They were trying to move from, you know, Biden can’t tie his shoelaces and is going to trip his way all over the stage, to trying to suggest that they expect that he will be good in the same way he was, say, at the State of the Union several months ago,” New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman told CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on “The Source”. “So there is an awareness in Trump’s world that they have lowered the expectations pretty solidly for Biden; I don’t know that you know a week out from the debate is enough time to try to recast that.”
But you all will try. They wouldn’t have to “recast” anything at all Maggie if they, along with MSM birdcage liners such as the one you draw a paycheck from, had not spent the last two years “painting” the President as a bumbling, tired old man rather than simply reporting how effective and accomplished he has actually been as President. While no news outlet should serve as a mouthpiece for whatever politician resides in the Oval Office, just a modicum of straight reporting, good and bad, of their actions would be refreshing.

“On an “All In” podcast that aired Thursday, Trump said he rewatched a 2012 debate where then Vice President Biden squared off against then-Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI). Ryan was running on GOP candidate Mitt Romney’s ticket.
Trump said Biden “destroyed Paul Ryan” in the 2012 vice presidential debate, chiding the retired Republican for “chugging water left and right.”
“I didn’t think a human being would be able to drink so much water at one time,” he joked.
But as far as the contender in his path to win the White House, Trump is clear-eyed on needing to keep his fists up this time around.
“I happen to think he’s incompetent for a lot of reasons,” Trump said of Biden. “I think he’s incompetent because he has gotten the worst policies, both foreign policy and internal policy.”
“I assume he’s going to be somebody that will be a worthy debater. I don’t want to underestimate him,” Trump added.”
Pick a lane, Trump.
Why can’t you just say you disagree with Biden on policy, while reserve the option to supplant him by undemocratic means if necessary, of course, while still recognizing that he is a worthy and capable opponent?

Now that you have helped Trump lower expectations for his debating skills versus Biden I suppose you can run back to the Times and rejoin their all in effort to shoehorn him back into office by continually denigrating the President.

Apparently reporting the policy successes of the Biden administration, or its stark contrasts with the bumbling mess of Trump’s version, wouldn’t sell newspapers or generate income online for the NYT; at least that’s what the honchos have decided, in line with their colleagues at rightwingding media. They don’t care whether it would be responsible journalism or not.
Von Shitzinpants cannot tell if he’s debating Sleepy Joe or Dark Brandon, cannot tell what day it is, cannot tell if he has a fresh diaper on or not…the amount of things/information/etc. Von Shitzi doesn’t know might be outnumbered by the number of stars in the universe but it’d be close.
Since CNN is run by right wingers, and the two moderators have a history of being roadkill, I’ll wait til the moment they call Trump ‘Mr. president’, then I’ll turn to SpongeBob SquarePants for sanity. Still betting he’ll find a reason to not show.
