You knew that this fallout was certain to come just any moment now. Trump is playing with the figures of course. He proclaims Melania’s documentary “the most successful in 19 years,” which is not the case. It had a bigger opening than any documentary not a concert video in ten years. Those are two different statements but you know Donald. He never met a statistic he didn’t want to double or quadruple for his own purposes.

One benefit to Donald from all this: Melania is now more engaged in being First Lady than she was and that is likely to continue. She’s not only pushing her movie, she’s got a docu-series that will soon need pushing. Reality TV all the way for this klan.

Trump initially wanted to bring in a camera crew and shoot his White House time as reality TV but that was quashed. Now he’s got the next best thing, Wifey doing reality TV and being at his beck and call.

Trump didn’t read a single review or he would have read how uncomfortable Melania is in front of the cameras — but no matter, Trump has proclaimed her a movie star.

Will Melania branch out? Will she be doing a spy mystery with Brad Pitt next year? Who knows? It’s not as crazy as anything else we’ve seen from these people. The only question there is how much money does Jeff Bezos want to dump and into what projects?

  1. When the Guardian reviewed ‘Melania’ it most cuttingly and succinctly describing the subject herself as

“with a face like a fist and a voice of sheet metal.”, ” Melania moves through the action like a listless automaton, talking constantly but saying nothing.”

But true excoriation is not held just for the subject,

“No doubt there is a great documentary to be made about Melania Knauss, the ambitious model from out of Slovenia who married a New York real-estate mogul and then found herself cast in the role of a latter-day Eva Braun, but the horrific Melania emphatically isn’t it. It’s one of those rare, unicorn films that doesn’t have a single redeeming quality. I’m not even sure it qualifies as a documentary, exactly, so much as an elaborate piece of designer taxidermy, horribly overpriced and ice-cold to the touch and proffered like a medieval tribute to placate the greedy king on his throne.”

Concluding that ” two hours of Melania feels like pure, endless hell.”

And with the movie being the lowest rated ever by many reviewers from IMDB to The Guardian, partly due to her ‘robotic’, ‘artless’, monotone’, ‘lifeless’ performance describing her as a ‘movie-star’ seems miscasting of the most mistaken sort.

Like describing her husband as ‘presidential’.
