Hello darkness my old friend. I’ve come to talk with you again Simon and Garfunkel The Sound of Silence
We are on the cusp of a seismic shift in the electorate, and it’s being fueled by something that the GOP never even bothered to consider, and now that it’s bit them in the ass, they have no realistic way of dealing with it before the 2026 midterms.
For those of you that are election night junkies like me, tonight was short, sweet, and to the point. And it was a total blowout in favor of the Democrats, but more on that in another article to follow. But once again, in my favorite sub tabs, there was a hidden figure that bodes ill winds for the GOP in 2026, and it’s not something that anybody else I know is talking about.
Both with Abigail Spanberger in Virginia, as well as Mikie Sherrill in New Jersey, it’s basically a double digit blowout. This is especially important in Virginia, where strong coattails from Spanberger in the House Delegates races could give the Democrats the kind of majority they need to make Virginia the next blue state to redraw their districting maps going into 2026. But that would be just an unexpected bonus.
Now on to those pesky sub tabs. In both Virgin and New Jersey, Spanberger and Sherill easily outperformed Kamala Harris in 2024. But it’s on the GOP side where where all the wheels fell off of the bus.
In both races, the GOP challengers got shellacked by worse numbers than Trump lost by in 2024. But the canary in the coal mine for the GOP in both states is that in this race, the GOP candidates underperformed Trump’s 2024 totals. This includes the traditionally red rural counties. Trump’s bullsh*t is coming home to roost. Rural GOP voters are worse off than they were a year ago, and he isn’t even talking to them anymore.
But here’s where the government shutdown comes in. Traitor Tot is trying something new and novel this time around, he’s trying for a surgical shutdown. He’s desperately trying to find ways to continue to pay the troops during the shutdown, and now he’s trying to squeeze out coin to pay the air traffic controllers and TSA agents, as well as federal law enforcement. The only ones he’s not trying to take care of are the administration workers that he wants to fire or to quit.
One small problem, and it just goes to show what a not only political, but a business imbecile Traitor Tot really is. The largest employer in the United States is the United states government. It’s not even a close horse race. And it’s not just in Dizzy City. Park rangers, the Farm service Administration, public works, all of those are in every state, along with civilian civil service jobs in the military and government offices. Those are all employees going without paychecks, although once the shutdown is settled, the first thing congress will do is to vote them their back pay to make them whole.
But here’s the hidden figure that will likely crucify the GOP next November. Government offices need to be cleaned, government vehicles need to be repaired and maintained, many government offices and facilities have facilities to feed the employees.
And those jobs are outsourced. Those employers and their employees are not receiving paychecks right now. And worse yet, those vendors will not get that lost money back once the shutdown ends. Ask yourself this. The shutdown is now in day 35. How long can some, if not many of these small vendors and service providers hold out without the income from their largest and most stable source of income? And what do their employees do when their company goes belly up?
Like a pebble thrown into a quiet pond, circles within circles. And all of those vendors, and the people they employ don’t even register with the party of MAGA. But I can pretty well guarantee you that most, if not all of these people will remember who did this to them. And they vote.
I thank you for the privilege of your time.

Are Republicans finally reaching that long-postulated point where fear of losing to losing to the Democrat outweighs fear of Trump’s punitive primary threat? Where not only the typical GOP candidate in all but the reddest districts is vulnerable, but the Trump’s primary candidate is practically guaranteed to lose? Because when that happens, Trump (or Vance, or whatever other idiot thinks they can be captain of the sinking ship) is finished.
