Stellaaaaahhh!! No, we’re not doing Streetcar Named Desire here, nothing that classy, alas. We are talking about Stella Immanuel, aka the Demon Spooj Doctor, who hooked up with Donald Trump and his quest for a COVID cure, back in the day. How could she not? “Dr.” Immanuel is a believer not only in the efficacy of hydroxychloroquine, she also believes in demon sperm giving people erotic dreams, and in alien DNA.

Nowadays Immanuel shows up on right-wing media shows, like Stew Peters’, (also known as Stew Pidd’s) and she has apparently escalated her worldview to include — wait for it now — demons among us.

What’s that you say? Like the pod people in Invasion Of the Body Snatchers? Close. You’re getting warm.

If you have forgotten Carpenter’s masterpiece, They Live, here’s something to refresh your recollection.

I love this movie. It’s so bad that it’s good. Carpenter managed to capture exactly the flavor of the 1950’s low budget sci fi movies and he did this in 1988. This is a cult classic and it was a major hit. I believe it was done for $3 million and grossed $12 million opening weekend.

The reviews it got basically lauded its fidelity to the elements of the now classic genre of B-movie sci fi, replete with bad acting, cheesy special effects and implausible plot development. If you grew up on 50’s sci fi, as I did, this is your film.

On a personal note, I worked with Buck Flower, who plays the derelict turned dandy. Buck and I worked in pre-production on an Indiana Jones ripoff that never got made, called “The Disc.” That was at Raleigh Studios, across the street from Paramount, circa 1982, six years before They Live was made.

After The Disc shut its doors, Buck invited me down the street to Sunset Gower Studios, where he was appearing as an impotent cowboy married to a young girl half his age in Marilyn Chambers’ opus, The Therapist. Here’s my experience working in the porn industry.

The moral of the story is that we are all connected, you, me, demon spooj, B-movies, politics. All tiles in a mosaic in the cosmic tapestry known as life.

  1. Wait. So now Peters is attacking the Catholic Church?

Well, that should be interesting for a couple of Supreme Court Justices to note–especially Clarence Thomas, Brett Kavanaugh, Samuel Alito, Amy Coney Barrett and John Roberts (Sonia Sotomayor is also a practicing Catholic but she’s pretty much on our side so the GOP wouldn’t hesitate to attack her). Oh, and I can’t imagine Newt Gingrich will be making any appearances on Peters’ show in the near future (seeing as how his current wife is a Catholic and the Church actually waived away his previous marriages in order for him to marry her in a “Catholic wedding”).

Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring.

In other words, the absolutely must stupid thinag about science are said by theose who know “a little” about it. Or anything else, really.

An PJ Evans is pretty much right. Satan is a fallen angel. But angels are pure spirit, so would not have DNA, which exists in the physical world.
