Ran across a new, updated article about the explosion in front of a Cheeto Prophet’s Las Vegas hotel early today … well, yesterday, since I’m round about 3am here on the east coast. Ewps. Anyhow, turns out that back of the truck was filled with firework mortars and camp fuel containers. Hmmmmm. And someone died in it. Bigger hmmmmm. Here we are with the two Co-President-elects having something happen that, really, involved both of them. Now, the pair was down in Mar-A-Slobo for their *yawn* New Year’s Eve party and nowhere near this event, but it does make you think.
So, onto some facts. By late Wednesday, they were still working to get the body out of the truck. Now why is it taking so long? Because crispy critter. And also, apologies to the people who were injured by the explosion. I was not trying to ignore you and your good fortune for not being hurt too badly when this … fool … did what was done. It was only the person in the truck who died, but still. And yes, OF COURSE President Biden has been briefed on the event and ongoing investigation (thank you, Joe), and I’m sure is getting regular updates, probably before they get to the news.
There is talk of terrorism, of course, and that’s not necessarily a wrong assumption, considering what two things were put together for it – Co-President-elects Orangutan and Mush. It could be a stretch but could not be. We’ll just have to wait for the investigation to give us updates as they become available. If it WAS terrorism, it was a poorly thought out and poor execution because overall, not much really happened, and with a little more thought put into it, could have been much, much worse. I’m glad it wasn’t. Hearing about something blowing up automatically makes one assume the worst, and in this case, it was almost the best, sick as that may sound.
They were able to track to the movement of the vehicle through Tesla Charging stations. The truck was rented though the Turo app in Colorado, but since the body inside hasn’t been identified, they don’t know if it’s the same person or not. So first they have to figure THAT out, and THEN they can consider terrorism or someone was just really pissed off at one or both of the main side characters. I’m rather impressed that the side of the bed of the truck were well built enough that the blast shot straight up. If the sides had gone, that goes back into much worse territory. Musk also said that all telemetry in the vehicle was positive at the time of explosion. I hate to be, because DAMN are those things ugly, but wow for amazing construction.
It will be interesting to see how this develops. The first thing is who and then I would guess they’ll work outwards from there. In the meantime, all we can do is wait and the police are *definitely* on the job.

And now, a very special message from our boss:
Friends, I am forced to self-promote and ask you for money. We had a bad year compared with 2023 and the end of the year has been catastrophic. Traffic died on November 5. We are a small blog and completely self-supporting by ad revenue, donations, and subscriptions. If you can afford a monthly subscription that would help us out. If you can make a small donation, likewise. Our only goal is to stay in business and give you the best content we can generate. Thank you. Ursula

If it helps inspire others to give, I donated on paypal. I’m hoping others step up.
Me too. Did it through my card and hope others will as well.
Thank you Prof P! It’s appreciated!
I do too, when I can.
And thanks to you also Ruth, because when you can is something!
Thank you, Cherl. That means a LOT to us!
Yesterday on Politizoom, I guffawed over the metaphor of a Tesla Cybertruck bursting into flames at a Trump Hotel. I assumed it was just another spontaneous Tesla failure. I’m feeling pretty bad now because, apparently, that isn’t what it was. I get the feeling that it might be hard to laugh at anything in 2025 without research…and that’s not funny! 🥺
I accused Trump of a publicity stunt , because he’s Trump and the NOLA story was grabbing all our attention.
I thought it was pretty funny myself, actually – then I started digging into it. And then it wasn’t. 🙁
I would if I could. While I occasionally drop by DKos, this is the only blog I read.
