This is simply how it goes in Trump world when one of the True Believers finds out that Donald Trump doesn’t believe in him back. In Arizona today we see a replay of the Ohio Republican primary and playing the role of crushed candy wrapper Josh Mandel is one Jim Lamon of Arizona.
Trump recently endorsed LaMon’s opponent, Blake Masters, for senator. The smart money has been saying for the past month that Trump would endorse Masters as part of a two-fer deal that Trump had going with Peter Thiel, the other nominee being J.D. Vance. It would seem that that prophecy has now come to pass.
Lamon is plenty pissed. I mean, look at it from his side. He positioned himself as a phony elector and everything and now he’s getting knifed.
Lamon isn’t learning from history and that’s a deadly flaw, especially in politics. 1) Josh Mandel debased himself like nobody else and Trump stabbed him; 2) Look at Mike Pence. Pence was the perfect lapdog for four years, then Trump threw him under the bus. He was fine with Pence being hanged, according to a recent report in the Washington Post.
I don’t know why Lamon thought his case would be different. I guess that’s the eternal mystery. Elise Stefanik, Kevin McCarthy, we’re talking to you now.
Looks like Mr. Lamon forgot the first rule of former guy: do not expect me to value your loyalty. I am guessing Mr. Lamon, like every single other magat, spends all his time under a rock ignoring what their dear leader does on if not a daily basis then at least on a weekly basis.
