The so-called Department of War has decided that it’s threatened by what started out as a cheery newsletter for the Civil War troops and later morphed into a respectable journalistic organ, namely the paper Stars & Stripes. Stars & Stripes has been with us more or less in its current form since 1861 or so and began publishing a European edition in 1863. (The New York Times only predates Stars & Stripes by ten years, 1851.) Now, today, we find out that it’s considered too woke and so expect it to change.

There’s already a newsletter called The War Zone which ably fits this niche. Stars & Stripes had a broader appeal and it shouldn’t be tampered with but oh those Associated Press reprints. We can’t have that, no siree.

Another day, another step backward into controlled media and fascism. Stars & Stripes is very tame. That it could be found to be a threat speaks to the hyper paranoia of the present administration.

  1. doesn’t all the hyper masculinity remind of the days with half naked skin heads slam dancing in mosh pits? not that there’s anything wrong with that.. it does all seem to be moving towards a bunch of muscular men getting oiled up to test each other’s strength. petey seems the type and it might explain his disdain for women. trump’s even scheduled a big demonstration for whatever is left of the white house lawn for independence day.
