Trump evokes a love hate schism in this country. But it’s not limited to us. Trump is also hated abroad. And he’s particularly loved and hated in Russia, where they praise him for the damage he does, all the while mocking him for the buffon that he is. And why is that? Simply because, as they are so forthcoming in stating, his actions align with the goals of the Russians. “A monument should be erected to him,” Solovyov said. “This was a major blow to the system of capitalism …I think he deserves at least a Sutulov medal.” Now a Satulov medal is in fact in order, because it’s a “gag gift.” Meaning that while Russian TV applauds Trump for helping out their cause, they also mock him. “A well-known Russian expression that describes a worthless award that is given by a master to his servant,” says Julia Davis who translated this clip.
Definitely there is a master/servant relationship with respect to Putin and Trump. That’s well known. And Putin mocking Melania’s past as a nude model on Russian TV as a way to yank Trump’s chain did not go unnoticed, either. That happened shortly after the election. Yet we are to believe that Vladimir and Donald are the best of buddies and Vlad actually has “prayed” for Trump. Perhaps he did, with a glass of vodka in one hand and holding his laughing belly with another. That’s entirely possible.
Trump has indeed “delivered a blow” as the Russian broadcasters laud him for. That’s accurate. What is the result going to be globally? One theory is that our allies Japan and South Korea will drop us dead and go running to China if the brutal economics of the situation demand such a thing. That is a strong possibility. Nobody is quite sure what the Canadians or the Mexicans will do. Right now the leaders of those two countries have Trump at bay — at least for the moment — and there haven’t been any recent blowups.
Another theory is that there will be a tri-polar economy after all this is said and done. That would be the economies of America, Europe and Asia being the three main components of wealth. This has already been the case for some time, but Trump’s stupidity is making life great for China.
Jump right in and speculate. That’s what everybody is doing, from people with Ph.D.s and even Nobel Prizes in Economics, down to the humblest stockholder, just trying to figure out how not to lose their shirt.
All that said, it is indeed a grim and dreary day in America when Russian TV is mocking the sitting president of these United States and everything they say about the buffon and the damage he’s doing is true. This is indeed a new low. And it’s only the first week in April.
