Interesting labor laws in New York, I must say. Rudy Giuliani believes he can contract to have sex and the woman he is attempting to do that with is now suing him for $10 million for sexual assault. Reuters:
In a civil complaint filed on Monday in a New York state court in Manhattan, Noelle Dunphy said Giuliani began abusing her almost immediately after hiring her in January 2019 as a director of business development and making clear that satisfying his sexual demands was an “absolute requirement” of her job.
Dunphy also said Giuliani went on “alcohol-drenched rants that included sexist, racist, and antisemitic remarks” that made her work environment unbearable and firing her in January 2021 without paying salary she had agreed to defer.
This should be simple enough. Just hide the Viagra. Maybe not.
According to the complaint, Giuliani promised to pay Dunphy $1 million a year and represent her for free in separate legal matters concerning domestic abuse but said her pay had to be deferred and her employment kept secret because they might pose problems for his then-“acrimonious” divorce proceedings.
The one million dollars sounds good, but under no circumstances do you want Rudy anywhere near representing you in a court of law. The man is famously known as somebody who can get a murder one rap from a parking ticket.
“he told Ms. Dunphy that her pay would have to be deferred and her employment kept “secret” until the divorce proceedings finished. He claimed that his “crazy” ex-wife and her lawyers were watching his cashflow, and that his ex-wife would “attack” and “retaliate” against any female employee that Giuliani hired, the lawsuit said.
Part of the job required Dunphy to record her interactions with Giuliani “anytime, anywhere, as well as Giuliani’s interactions with others,” the lawsuit said.
Those ought to be some interesting recordings. Just what we needed, folks, Rudy to come forward and offer up some comic relief.
