The legacy that Donald Trump has left to the fragmented, rotted husk that is the GOP he was nominated by in 2016, is that form trumps substance. We see that with great clarity in Vivek Ramaswamy. The guy doesn’t know his butt from a hole in the ground politically. He’s got no political background, he started studying U.S. foreign policy a few weeks before the debate and from that superficial glance, he’s now spouting off right-wing talking points. He is, as I wrote yesterday, the epigone of Donald Trump, the lesser imitation.

Just how dominant is Donald Trump in the Republican Party?
He’s so far ahead in the polls that he felt comfortable skipping the first GOP presidential debate in Milwaukee, while on the actual debate stage, his epigone, Vivek Ramaswamy, soaked up an outsized portion of the attention.
The 38-year-old billionaire biotech entrepreneur shows that the Trump brand is so strong that it can create successful subsidiaries, the Trump story line so compelling that subplots can be spun off into their own programs.
Thursday night was a “MAGA” tag team, with Trump trying to detract from the debate from the outside and Ramaswamy shaking it up on the inside.
And of course Ramaswamy was the crown prince when Trump declared him the winner of the debate, for proclaiming that Trump was the “greatest president in the 21st century.” Sorry, Charlie. We’re only 23 years into the millennium but Barack Obama holds that title for the moment. Hands down.
And why is Ramaswamy even running if he believes Trump is the greatest?
And the answer to the paradox of a pro-Trump candidate running against Trump is that every vote Ramaswamy gets is denied to some other non-Trump contender who might be a more serious threat to the former president. Ramaswamy may deny that this is the dynamic, but Donald Trump clearly understands it, which is why he has nothing but praise for his notional opponent.
There has been talk of a Trump/Ramaswamy ticket and that might possibly appear. You thought Trump/Pence was a joke. Say what you will about Mike Pence and nobody has revealed his shortcomings more than I have, he’s at least got a law degree and has been in politics for a while. He has some clue. Ramaswamy has none. And that may be his ticket to a celebrity E-ride in 2024, if he ends up Trump’s VP. The two celebrity know nothings — except how to do television. That is apparently the state of the GOP, as Rick Wilson said, “showmanship above principles.” Bread and circus, ladies and gentlemen, just like in Rome before it fell.

Trumpleforeskin won’t choose Ramaswamy as his VP. Ramaswamy is younger, svelter, “prettier”, RICHER, MORE SUCCESSFUL, LOUDER and absolutely the type who will knife him the first chance he gets. Like trumpleforeskin, he respects no one and nothing other than fame, money and power and drumpf represents little money and fading fame and power.
And in racist RWNJ America he’s too brown, darker than Obama.
No you are wrong there. Trump would absolutely pick Ramsay. He’s the one thing Trump cherishes. He’s a devoted, passionate and dedicated disciple. He’s basically the ultimate asskisser that trump demands. Now whatever he does down the road might be a whole different story. But like Ursula said, he doesn’t know what he’s doing. So he’s going to behave while he’s learning. I seen that the very first time I seen him where they were trying to get him to answer some questions and he basically turned around and left. They took it as him. Being rude or something. What they didn’t know was he didn’t have any answers. If he suddenly starts getting answers or if he starts getting a crew around him to block for him you can just about bet he’s being eyed for Trumps VP. That’s something everyone is looking at. They were thinking Trump was to have a woman on the ticket. I don’t think so. His history on that is to clouded and I don’t see it because a woman would upstage him. Now to my way of thinking Ramsay is good. Young and stupid. Trump knows there’s young voters and they killed him last time. A young guy on the ticket would be an asset. And you have to remember Trump has to win. Also, Ramsay right at the beginning of that debate I think but somewhere said the first thing he would do is pardon Trump. That statement right there puts him at the top of the list. None of the other clowns have come close there. That’s known as a win win. If Trump loses he will be pushing Ramsay and he could win. Of course for now it’s all speculation because the election is over a year off. Now that doesn’t mean we can get complacent about it. It just means a lot could happen between now and then.

Ramaswamy may work as a sidekick or TV spinoff, but he’ll never be fully embraced by MAGAstan for the simple reason that he isn’t white. A brown incel tech bro Trump. Nah.
