If you’ve ever worked for a living, then you all know the score. At some time or another, you’ve found yourself somewhere you really don’t want to be. Call it mandatory training, call it a tiger team lock up, call it a team meeting, or even a teambuilding session. They all mean the same thing, your ass is about to be bored off. But the good thing is that when it’s over, it’s over.
For Defendant Donald Trump, tomorrow is day 9 of forever. When you’re in a teambuilding or training, eight hours feels like forever, but most of us have the ability to parse our time mentally and survive the doldrums. Trump can’t do that, he has the attention span of a four week old puppy. For Trump, every minute in that defendant’s chair is an eternity.
And it’s even worse because Trump is a man on an island. As much as he tries to insulate himself from anything not FUX News or NewsMax, there’s no way he can insulate himself from the fact that it’s a national news story that from the day the trial started, Trump hasn’t had one family member or supporter behind him in court. And it’s killing his ego.
This isn’t anything new. From his first arraignment in Manhattan court, and on through all the rest of the criminal court proceedings, Trump has never had anybody but his lawyers with him in court. I keep expecting to see a split screen shot of Trump sitting in court on one side, and another of Melania getting out of a limo wearing that dumb Do I look like I care jacket.
Trump’s reaction has been predictable. From his earliest arrests, he made a habit of retreating to Bullsh*t Social to do another J6 and call on the faithful to show up en masse to support him in every court appearance. Just one problem. All of those slobbering morons are either in prison, or fearful of sticking their heads out of their holes and getting swept up. And after several miserable failures where there were more reporters than protesters in front of the courthouse, Traitor finally just shut up about it.
But this is different. These aren’t arraignments or preliminary hearings anymore, he is now a criminal defendant, looking at a possible conviction, and he needs somebody, anybody to come to his aid!
And so, once again he retreats to bullsh*t Social to frantically call out the faithful. And once again you can count the number of pro Trump protesters standing in the park across the street from court on the fingers of both hands. And one of these wet noodles decided to show his fealty by pouring an accelerant on himself and setting himself on fire.
And so Trump’s world class paranoia is kicking in on him. The thought is intolerable to him that his closest, most ardent supporters aren’t storming the barricades for him. There has to be something afoot that’s keeping them from showing up.
And so, one more time it’s back to Bullsh*t Social to explain that there are thousands of faithful Trump mongrels that are showing up for court every damn day, only to be turned back by the NYPD two blocks away from the courthouse. Really? The New York Police Department is now stopping free citizens from using public streets just because they have Trump posters and signs?
Trump is devolving. And it’s only going to get worse. Trump’s paranoia is all powerful. And a part of it is self induced. His Lowness has every weekend off, as well as Wednesdays, and this week the judge threw in Monday as well. And Traitor Tot isn’t campaigning!
If I were the paranoid Trump I know, and I was doubting the loyalty of my base, their willingness to do anything for me, I’d want so spend every minute the court gives me to hit the road and do mass rallies. Bask in the glory and adoration of my slobbering Trombie base, reassure myself that all is well in the world, and that I’m still unstoppable. But Trump isn’t doing that.
Which tells me something.
as much as El Pendejo Presidente likes to refer to Biden as Sleepy Joe, the simple fact is that while Biden is old, Trump is older. Biden is still fit, he rides his bike, he’s alert and cognizant. Trump is an old man. He’s obese, he suffers from high cholesterol, And the threat of a criminal conviction hangs on his shoulders like an Indian elephant. I’ll say it. With the probability of his business empire crumbling around him, and the threat of a criminal conviction and possible incarceration hanging over his head, Trump just doesn’t have the stamina and the juice to run a successful presidential campaign anymore, especially with everything else that is swirling around him like a plague of locusts. I don’t care if this trial goes on for eight weeks. Just keep wearing him down.

If one were to judge things using various polls, trump doesn’t even have to mount much of a campaign to win November’s election. What in the ever loving f*ck is wrong with people? The idiot is responsible for hundreds of thousands of Covid deaths. Women are going to be (or are already) dying because of the moron’s s.c. choices. The economy started a downward spiral while trump was in office-his tax cuts for the rich/corps. did exactly what should have been expected-allowed stock buy-backs, more savings for the wealthy, and no job creation or help for the working class and his mishandling of the Covid crisis made everything in this country much,much worse. The difference between President Biden and former guy is stark–everything is better under President Biden’s presidency–every single metric shows Biden has improved things and trump destroyed things. But, yeah, vote for the guy who will take away every f*cking freedom you have and will never allow you to decide anything ever again.
I wonder if the s.c. will just bite the bullet and declare the mango moron president for life? We’re at yet another crossroads in this country and folks do not seem to grasp this fact. The students at Columbia really ought to be paying attention to what is happening in THIS country because I GUARANTEE if trump gets back into the oval, the stuff they are doing right now will result in summary executions–Kent State style.
While I think tRump wants protestors and supporters showing up outside the courthouse, I really doubt that he wants family or ‘friends’ inside the courtroom. You and I might, but we’re not the sociopathic narcissist that tRump is. I’d bet he thinks he appears more manly going it alone with just his attorneys. He is older in physical health and condition than Biden, but what is the RNC going to do if he doesn’t make it to the election or is locked up? They’ve really left themselves out on a ledge by putting their eggs in the tRump basket. They have no one else who has the ability to finish out the campaign, there isn’t even a VP pick to default to. It would serve them right, the worthless asshats, if we get close to election day and their guy is taken out by death, disease, a ricocheting ketchup bottle, whatever. There is no one and no campaign organization that can step in and take over. So many unprecedented events in the last several years, but that would be the ultimate. Maybe they’d just stuff him and use a ventriloquist. Couldn’t be much worse than the real thing.
You’re probably right about Trump not caring at least in one sense. However as cynical as it might seem to many, even if Melania understandably wants no part of playing “stand by her man” in all this and her presence would likely rub the jury the wrong way (a “who do they think they’re trying to fool) NONE of his kids being there is a different story. Other than wanting to screw daughter Ivanka Trump feels nothing for his kids, except maybe contempt. But he doesn’t actually care about any of them. They have never been anything other than props, bit players in the “Look at me I’m Donald Trump” show. He uses them and they use him which is weird and messed up but it’s not like dysfunctional families are unusual. What sets the Trump’s apart is the level of dysfunction and that even before he got into politics it was all so public.
Trump’s lawyers have surely advised him it would be good for at least one of his kids to show up. Jarnanka went to a lot of effort to create distance after the WH and when they got the cold shoulder from their former “beautiful people” NYC crowd decided to try ingratiating themselves into the south Flrodia version. That’s not gone all that well either but it’s slightly better than NYC. Ivanka’s attempts to mix in with some Hollywood types wasn’t so smooth either. And then everyone knows about her father’s sick obsession with her so she’d probably do more harm than good. Don Jr. and “fiance” Kimberly? With her visage her glaring at them would piss a jury full of New Yorkers off. Don Jr. crashing and falling asleep in court (coke addicts do that when they can’t keep doing a line or two of blow) probably wouldn’t help either. Tiffany would seem like a safe bet. She could have broken free but instead broke her mom’s heart and took an easy big bucks job with the Trump Org so she’s there in NYC. Hell, the “extra” daughter that’s not had any personal scandal in her life would be good for this. Her three older siblings wouldn’t like it but then if it helped ole pops beat the rap they’d get over it. So I’m sure Trump’s lawyers have attempted to sell Trump on the idea of Tiffany being there.
And you know what? I’ll bet Trump agrees on a certain level that it would help. He might WANT Tiffany there and she might be hesitant. And she could easily tweak a rivalry with the others that would leak out and that’s drama that would wind up being detrimental. The thing is, Trump isn’t smart but he’s PR savvy and knows that Tiffany being present would likely help him soften his image. And she’s resisted in a subtle way enough Trump has said screw it. So Trump sits there without family, all alone. If there was the tiniest bit of decency in the man I’d feel a bit sorry for him to be so abandoned by his entire family. But there’s not so I don’t. He has no family and no friends. That’s a consequence of the kind of person he is and how he’s lived his life.
