REVEALED: Radio Recordings Show Russian Soldiers Premeditatively Killed Civilians, Invalidating Russia’s Claims Killings Were Staged

The latest breaking news in the Ukraine War is that the United Nations voted Thursday to suspend Russia from the Human Rights Council due to the “apparent execution-style killings of civilians” in Bucha, a suburb of Ukraine’s capital city of Kyiv. You’ve seen gruesome footage and read reports of women being raped in front of their children, handcuffed victims being tortured before they are shot. These are crimes against humanity which Joe Biden and Germany’s Olaf Scholz have described as war crimes. Biden has called Vladimir Putin a war criminal.

Last weekend a mass grave was discovered in Bucha, containing the kinds of mutilated corpses which have been found in the streets or dead in basements. The grave is believed to contain women and children as well. Russia denied that their soldiers did this and they claim that the killings have been staged, which is an insult to the intelligence of the world as well as adding insult to injury already perpetrated on Ukraine.

Der Spiegel is reporting radio transmissions in which Russian soldiers appear to talk among themselves about carrying out the premeditated civilian killings  reported in Ukraine. Those have been intercepted by Germany’s foreign intelligence service. The Guardian:

In one of the radio conversations, a Russian voice is heard telling someone how he and another soldier shot a person who had been on a bicycle. One of the many pictures of the atrocities to have gone around the world in recent days was of the corpse of a person next to a bicycle.

In another communication, a man was heard saying: “Firstly you question the soldier, then you shoot them.” The impression given was that the soldiers were talking matter-of-factly about the killings as if they were discussing everyday activities, the MPs were told, according to Spiegel.

The intelligence material is also said to give credence to reports that the Russian mercenary Wagner Group was central participants in the killings. The group was previously active in the war in Syria where the vicious nature of its activities was notorious.

Speaking on Thursday, the mayor of Bucha, Anatoliy Fedoruk, said the number of bodies found in the city was increasing every day, with 320 civilians identified so far. Specialist crime scene officers had retrieved corpses from private estates, parks and squares, he said, as well as from temporary graves. “Almost 90% were killed by bullets, not shrapnel,” he added.

The BND’s recordings have intensified suspicions that these killings were neither random nor carried out by soldiers who might have been acting autonomously as has previously been suggested.

Other radio recordings are being analysed, according to Spiegel. However, the precise localisation of them appears to be more difficult. They reportedly point to similar activities in other parts of Ukraine, in and around the port city of Mariupol which has been largely destroyed by Russian bombardment.

The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the expertise of forensic specialists in Europe was being sought as a matter of urgency, with independent experts needing to be ready to gather as much evidence as quickly as possible as soon as suspected atrocities came to light, of which the source said it was expected there would be many more.

It is virtually assured that the atrocities that have come to light are not the only ones that have occurred or that will occur.

Putin was charged early on with desiring nothing less than the genocide of the Ukrainian people. So far his actions have mirrored this intent.

Meanwhile, here in the states, the House overwhelmingly voted this week to reaffirm “its unequivocal support” of NATO, the defense alliance created more than 70 years ago specifically for the purpose of countering Russian aggression in Europe. 63 House members, all Republicans, voted against the resolution.

This is a different level of horror which Putin has foisted upon the world, but no less real than the dead civilians. It’s time for us to clean up this mess in our own House, literally.
